You made my dawn - Food coma đ¸đđ˘
Titel from 1 to 13 (SEVENTEEN)
Previous story: Lost in the big city
Summary: Even as the situation could have been avoided and mixing various cuisines was not the smartest idea, she couldnât help but feel bad. All three of them looked miserable, clearly having been unable to estimate their limit.
CW: emeto
Main characters: Jun + Mingyu + Hansol/Vernon
Comfort came in many, many ways but there was something undeniably comforting about good food. Eunji just wished that her trainees had a bit more common sense.Â
It was pretty late in the evening when she got a call from Jun, which was rather unexpected. The trainees had been overjoyed when they were finally given phones and they all used them responsibly, often just to communicate with family in the night. Jun especially never had been one to call her much unless it was an emergency. So she fumbled with her phone instantly, worried what might have happened.
âNoona?â, Jun greeted her, his voice strained, âwe, uh, we have a bit of a problem. Hansollie really isnât feeling well.â
âOh noâ, Eunji mumbled, her mind running through all interactions she had with the young trainee that day. She couldnât remember noticing that something was off - it must be a recent thing. She reached for her purse, ready to rush across the hall over to the trainee dorm. âIâll be there in a few minutes.â
âUhm, noonaâ, Jun said, a strange sound to his voice. âWe, uh, weâre not at the dorm.â
That stopped Eunji dead in her tracks.
âWhat do you mean?â, she asked. âWhere are you, cutie?â
She swore, if they went to practice again âŚ
âWeâre at the Chinese restaurant by the parkâ, Jun replied sheepishly.Â
âUh huhâ, Eunji said, âpray tell me what you were doing there?â
âWell, itâs ⌠itâs my fault. I said I missed Chinese food and then Hansollie said he wanted to eat some American food again and Mingyu then suggested that we should just go restaurant-hopping ⌠no, Mingyu, it was your idea ⌠sorry, noona. Well, now we are here and I think Hansollie had a bit too much food.â
Eunji ran her hand through her hair. She expected to see gray hair any day now. The kids were impossible. But she understood - she knew Jun loved his home countryâs cuisine and both Mingyu and Hansol loved to experiment with food and none of the three really knew when to stop. Maybe it was the restricted eating that the company had introduced to them against her will - they didnât know how to tell when they were full anymore. For now she could do nothing but make sure they were okay.
âOkay, tell me your location and Iâll come get you with the carâ, she said.
âI told you, the Chinese restaurant by the park.â
âJunnie, there are at least twenty Chinese restaurantsâŚâ
âThe good oneâŚâ
âJunâŚâ
âNoona, the authentic one, come onâŚâ
âJunâŚâ
âIâll send you the address.â
âThank you.â
Ten minutes later Eunji found her three charges sitting on the sidewalk by the address Jun had sent her. As she parked the car and got out, she found all three of them looking a bit uncomfortable.Â
âNoonaâ, Mingyu whined, his classic pout on his lips and rushing to cling to her. âIâm never eating again.â
âHm, I doubt that, dearâ, she mumbled, mustering the three of them.
Surprisingly Mingyu looked the best out of the three, while he seemed to be a bit pale, at least he was standing and walking. Hansol was curled up, arms wrapped around his stomach and he was pale, looking pained and queasy. Jun was sitting beside him, arm wrapped around Hansolâs shoulder but he had a hand on his stomach too.
Eunji shook her head and sighed, kneeling down in front of them.Â
âHey, Hansollieâ, she mumbled, brushing back a strand of his hair. âBit too much food, buddy?â
Hansol just groaned.Â
âJunnie, how are you?â, she asked, noting how protective Jun seemed about his stomach.Â
âI feel so full, noona. My stomach hurts and Iâm kinda nauseousâ, Jun admitted.
Eunji nodded. Even as the situation could have been avoided and mixing various cuisines was not the smartest idea, she couldnât help but feel bad. All three of them looked miserable, clearly having been unable to estimate their limit.
âLetâs get you all home, okay?â, she suggested.Â
Hansol was pliant as she helped him up, settling him in the front seat. With his motion sickness she didnât want to take any chances. Mingyu also just slumped into the backseat. When Eunji had helped settle Hansol she turned to find Jun awkwardly standing by the backseat car door, looking uncomfortable.
âWhatâs wrong, Junnie?â, she asked, reaching out to place a hand on his shoulder.
âI think I need to puke, noonaâ, he whispered shakily, a hand on his chest as if he didnât want to publicly raise it to his mouth.Â
âNow?â, Eunji asked, already frantically looking around for a spot.
Jun nodded, turning greenish.Â
âAlright, come on, cutieâ, Eunji mumbled and grabbed his hand. âStay where you areâ, she called to the younger members and rushed Jun into the restaurant. A server looked at them confused, but ready to stop them until she saw Junâs face. She instantly pointed them towards the bathrooms.
As soon as they entered the big, single stall bathroom, Jun was bent over the sink, heaving violently. Eunji locked the door and just reached him in time as the first wave of vomit came up. She brushed his longish hair back and rubbed his back, whispering soothing words.Â
Jun just kept gagging and retching, his stomach turning itself inside out. It was hard to watch as more and more chunky, thick, brown puke fell into the sink. Eunji shuddered when she realised that she could sort of piece together what he had eaten and instead focused on washing the sick away with the facet.Â
âNoonaâ, Jun gasped, tears in his eyes. âI ⌠â He stopped himself, gagging again. âI feel so sick.â
âI know, Junnie, I knowâ, Eunji mumbled, âyouâre gonna be okay.â
It took a few more minutes, so much coming up, until Jun was able to stop. Euni gently helped him straight up, washed away the remnants of vomit in the sink and held him steady as he washed his face and swished his mouth.Â
âDo you feel a bit better after you got all of that out?â, Euni asked, running her hand through his hair.
âYeah, sorryâ, Jun mumbled sheepishly.Â
âItâs alright. Iâm just glad you feel better. Do you feel ready to go home?â
Jun ignored her question, his eyes filling with tears.
âIâm so sorry, noonaâ, he whispered, âitâs all my fault. That Mingyu-yah and Hansollie arenât feeling well. I ⌠I was feeling homesick and I said I really wanted to eat real Chinese food again and so they said they wanted to try it too. Hansollie started talking about hamburgers and pizza and other American food and then Mingyu suggested we try all three. So we ate some Korean street food and American street food and ended up here as the final joy. I ⌠if I âŚâ
âOh, Junnie, noâ, Eunji mumbled and pulled him into her arms, his body shaking softly against hers. âYou miss home, thatâs okay. I understand, we all understand. I think itâs pretty nice that Mingyu and Hansol tried to cheer you up, hm? Of course, you maybe shouldnât have done it all in one sitting but youâll learn from this.â
Jun nodded against her and took a deep breath. âCan we go home?â
âOf course.â
The drive home luckily wasnât as exciting. Jun and Minygyu were cuddling in the backseat and Hansol was slowly starting to relax in the front seat. Once they reached the parking garage, Mingyu and Jun helped each other out of the car while Eunji took Hansolâs hand, leading them all up to the dorm.
âGo lie down on the couch, okay?â, she suggested, âIâll get you something to help you feel better.â
Together the three of them sadly shuffled to the living room, collapsing into a pile of teenage boy. Eunji grabbed some stomach medicine from the kitchen cupboard as well as some water bottles and a bucket, just in case. She activated the kettle and brought the other items to the couch before filling up the two hot water bottles they had.Â
She smiled when she saw the three of them. Hansol was curled up in a tiny ball in one corner, Mingyu holding his hand. Jun was curled up in Mingyuâs lap, while the tallest was stretched out. Gently Eunji placed a hot water bottle against both Mingyuâs and Junâs stomachs, both exhaling in relief as the warmth soothed their muscles.
She contributed the medicine before settling down with them by Hansolâs side. As expected, the youngest quickly crawled into her lap, and grabbed her hand, playing it against his tummy. Eunji rubbed tender circles against his skin, knowing it was what soothed the kid the most.Â
âRestâ, she told them, âIâll be here if you need anything. Next time, just let me know and Iâll drive you to some good food, okay? You donât have to pay for a piece of home and comfort yourself.â

Our Chaos
Fandom: Seventeen
Sickie: Everyone but the Maknae Line (flu)
Caregiver(s): Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino
Word Count: 1,633
It wasnât often that all of Seventeen took sick at the same time. Despite living in such close quarters, being naturally cuddly people with little regard for personal space, and having to squeeze in pre-show spaces meant for significantly less people, the members were highly skilled at self-isolating and taking care of themselves as needed when they didnât feel well, especially if they were in comeback or concert season. Things usually just⌠worked out.Â
But âoftenâ and âusuallyâ were not a guarantee.Â
âWooziâs trying to escape again!â Chan called from the upstairs landing. Hansol turned around, quick as lightning, just in time to catch Jihoon groan in frustration right at the base of the stairs. Seungkwan also slid into the doorframe from the laundry room, pointing a finger at Jihoon to double down on Chanâs tattling.Â
âAm not!â Jihoonâs croaky voice shot back.Â
Hansol arched one eyebrow. âThen why do you have one shoe on, hm?â
Jihoon looked at his feet, seeing he did, in fact, only have one shoe on. âWell fuck me, then.âÂ
âSee, thatâs how I know youâre sick: my question, it made no sense, but you gave yourself up anyway.âÂ
Jihoonâs eyes narrowed. The effect was entirely ruined by his influenza-flushed face. âI hate you.â His gaze shifted between the pair. âBoth of you.â
Seungkwan smirked. âYou donât.â He nodded towards the den. âBack to the couch.â Jihoon grumbled under his breath, likely things heâd be apologizing later despite neither Hansol nor Seungkwan not fully hearing him. Hansol sighed, shaking his head as he turned back to the pot on the stove, bubbling with homemade soup.Â
Theyâd been home for an hour. One hour. And things had already been chaos.
The only members who had been seemingly spared from the flu from hell were the three maknaes. And management had insisted that the three of them come into the studio for part of the day, claiming that they could still make content, and, as one representative from each unit, help plan some of the groupâs upcoming activities. Seungcheol had encouraged them to go, claiming that he, Jeonghan, and Joshua could collectively hold down the fort while they were gone, despite the fact that the three eldest had gotten sick most recently and were definitely feeling the more worse for wear at the moment.
Still, they couldnât say no to Seungcheol. Theyâd gone to the studio. And come home to chaos.Â
Seungkwan had opened the door on a scene straight out of a horror movie. The entire living room was a cacophony of yelling, with Seokmin in the center of the storm, perched on the coffee table with a cartoonish pout on his face, and blood leaking from a cut on his forehead. Mingyu and Minghao and Soonyoung were all pacing around the room, the main sources of the yelling, while Wonwoo observed and commented from the recliner. Seungkwan had immediately rushed in while Hansol had gone for the first aid kit. The cut had been the result of Seokmin standing up too fast, blacking out from a rush of vertigo, and hitting his head on the coffee table.Â
It thankfully hadnât taken more than a bandaid and a few hugs to get him to calm down.Â
So now theyâd divided tasks to conquer the most area: Hansol was making dinner, Seungkwan was attending to chores, and Chan was sent on reconnaissance to locate the rest of the members.Â
The easiest to locate had been Junhei, who had been in the living room all along, fast asleep on the smaller couch, the back of which faced the door so his sleeping frame had been hidden from the maknaes upon entry. Minghao informed Chan that Jun hadnât been able to keep his eyes open for longer than 15 minutes, drifting in and out of sleep faster than was legal (Minghaoâs exact words.) Chan was just happy that at least one of his useless hyungâs was getting the rest he needed.Â
Once upstairs, Chan started by knocking on the closed bathroom door, getting a response from Jihoon, who confirmed he was just getting out of the shower and not actively puking. Chan then checked Seungcheolâs room, where the 95 line usually congregated, but found it empty. Same with Jeonghanâs. Thoroughly baffled, Chan opened the door to Joshuaâs room just enough to peek his head inside. All three members of the 95 line were snuggled together in Joshuaâs bed, which was an uncharacteristic event. Usually, they could be found in Seungcheolâs room. Chan later learned, through a harrowing tale as narrated by a semi-delirious Soonyoung, that the trio had had to move to Joshuaâs room after Jeonghan had thrown up in Seungcheolâs bed (and this after the same thing happening in his own bed). Soonyoung and Wonwoo had attempted laundry, but hadnât been entirely successful (another fun adventure Seungkwan and Chan had dealt with upon arriving home, leaving the squeamish Vernon out of that picnic).Â
So here the three eldest were in Joshuaâs smaller bed, Jeonghan on the end, passed out on his left side, gripping a plastic bowl as if it were a stuffed animal. Seungcheol was sandwiched in the middle, his arms around Joshuaâs waist while the latterâs arms were thrown around Seungcheolâs neck. And while they looked absolutely adorable, Chan couldnât help the tug in his chest at just how exhausted and sick they all looked. The day had to have been hard on them, caring for the rest of the members while so ill themselves. Chan knew for a fact theyâd had little help; Soonyoung and Wonwoo had likely done their best, but he knew that poor Junhei couldnât stay awake long enough to be of any assistance, and Jihoon had certainly been too busy planning his escape.Â
Regardless, Chan was glad they were asleep now.Â
âCheollie, Hannie, and Shua are asleep in Shuaâs room,â Chan reported when he returned to the main level.Â
âHaoâs on the couch. Gyuâs on the couch. Seokminâs on the couch,â Seungkwan began reciting, peeking over at the den. âWonwooâs on the recliner. Hoshiâs on the other couch with Junnie.â
âAnd Jihoonâs trapped with him,â Hansol finished.Â
âFuck you,â the producer said back, raising his voice just enough to be heard and to make him cough roughly.Â
âLove you too,â Hansol chirped back. âAlso, dinnerâs almost ready. I think?â He peered questioningly down at the pot in front of him. Seungkwan moved to the kitchen to check with him.Â
âWant me to take a look?â Mingyu asked, moving to stand up. Just the motion of leaning forward had him blinking stars from his eyes, something that did not go unnoticed.Â
âNo, Gyu, we got it covered,â Seungkwan reassured him, holding up a hand. âItâs not like majority of you can taste it anywayâŚâ
âBut stillâŚâ
âHey Mingyu, youâre gonna sit your ass right down cause we will not be scraping you up off the floor if you pass out,â Hansol replied, his tone carrying order. He snapped his fingers at Jun and Wonwoo, despite Jun being dead asleep and Wonwoo almost there. âThat goes for you too, 1.82 meter crew.â
âThat feels discriminatoryâŚâ Wonwoo muttered.Â
âBe less tall, then,â Jihoon retorted.Â
âDoes that mean Jihoonie gets to pass out cause heâs short?â Mingyu asked, his voice so genuine that Hansol fought the urge to laugh at the question.Â
âSure.â
âJihoonie, you need to take advantage of your privileges,â Minghao slurred, tapping Jihoonâs knee in earnest.Â
âI like you better when youâre asleep.â
âMe too,â Minghao replied, flopping back against the couch.Â
As their bickering continued, Chanâs eyes surveyed the room, landing on Soonyoung. The dancer leader had moved to sit with Junhei, propping the elder manâs head up in his lap and playing with his hair. Chan slipped towards them, sitting on the arm of the couch behind his unit leader.Â
âHey,â Chan whispered.Â
Soonyoung tipped his head back and smiled. âHey, bug. Whatâs up?â
âJust checking on you. Youâre uncharacteristically quiet.â
âWell my throat uncharacteristically hurts.â He sniffled once before pitching forward with a nearly stifled sneeze, careful not to jostle Jun too much.
âBless you.â Chanâs fingers carded through his hair.Â
âThanks.âÂ
âReally, though, how are you?â
Soonyoung shrugged. âI feel like shit. My entire body aches, I canât breathe right, and I havenât been able to fall asleep all day. Normal flu stuff, you know?â He tipped his head back again to look at Chan, a crooked smile on his lips. Soonyoungâs joking grin quickly faded when he saw tears in his maknaeâs eyes. âChannie, whatâs wrong?âÂ
âThereâs justâŚâ A tear slipped from Chanâs eye, and he laughed incredulously, ânothing I can do for you.â He held up empty hands.Â
âBabyâŚâ Soonyoung held out his hand. Chan took it, another tear escaping as he felt Soonyoung squeeze hard. âYou being here is enough. You, and Sollie, and Kwannie⌠you caring enough to be here means everything. You are doing everything you can for us, and we love you for it.âÂ
âHeâs right, bug.â Chanâs eyes snapped up to meet Seokminâs. Actually, everyoneâs attention was on him now. âI know youâre probably super overwhelmed right nowâŚâ
âKwannie, Sollie, you too,â Wonwoo added, looking over at the other two members who had most definitely tuned into the conversation.Â
âBut youâre doing great,â Seokmin finished, smiling, tired but bright. âWe appreciate you three so much more than we could ever say.â âAnd we arenât the easiest patients, thatâs for sure,â Mingyu added.Â
âSpeak for yourself,â Jihoon muttered.Â
âNo, he speaks for YOURSELF,â Minghao replied, leaning against Jihoonâs shoulder, from which he was brusquely shoved off with all the strength the sickly produce could muster. Chan laughed, and Soonyoung squeezed his hand. Maybe things would turn out all right after all.

One of my favorite scenes in kazujun fics would be Kazuya suddenly becoming very gentle (so out of character) towards Jun
Figured I'd share two of kazujun fics which I think best portrays that kind of dynamic.
Icky sicky Jun is about Kazuya getting everything together as Jun catches a temp
Oils and Kisses is written by the same author. This is more Jun heavy but the premise is about Jun giving Kazuya a body massage, and Kazuya returning the favor.
These 2 fics are probs my comfort kazujun fics. No big bad and devil gene stuff. Just the two of them enjoying each other's company. They can be read on fanfiction dot net

I have absolutely 0 idea how many hours its been but how about a svt Jun fic where he's maybe allergic to smth and keeps sneezing from it and Minghao gets concerned? I'm a sucker for junhao lmao
sickie: Jun
caretaker: Minghao
This was fun to write
Hao p.o.v
I was bored, very bored. It felt like it had been the longest day ever. I sighed loudly and went in search of something to do. It wasn't long before I found Jun, he looked equally as bored as me. Sitting on the couch scrolling on his phone, but eyes unfocused and empty with boredom. "Jun?" I said, he flinched slightly, snapping back to focus. "what's up?"
"I'm bored. Let's go get food" He smiled and slid his phone into his pocket. "Sounds good. I was about to go insane" he said with a laugh. The two of us got ready and left. "I swear I was 2 seconds from insane" I said with a laugh. "same here. It's never that quiet in the dorm. But with the whole vocal and hiphop unit out it gets quiet." Jun said, he cleared his throat after. "So what do you want to eat?" he asked, clearing his throat a second time. "Honestly anything. I was more interested just getting out of the house" I said, "I know there's a really good korean bbq nearby, how does-" he paused, I glanced over at him, as I did he turned away, and brought his hands up to his face, "heKKtcha- ehh-kTcha- KKtcHa"
"Bless you"
"thanks-" he cleared his throat, "what was I saying?"
"Korean Bbq. Sounds good to me"
"Perfect" He sniffled and cleared his throat. "why do you keep doing that?" I asked, "doing what?" he asked, and cleared his throat. " THAT!" he still looked confused, "you keep clearing your throat."
"Oh, that" He laughed, "My throat itches"
"are you okay?"
"yeah, I'm not exactly sure why" He sniffled, he turned away from me again. "kKtcha- ehKt-CHA- hktchA"
"jeez dude, you okay?"
"yeah, nose is itchy, throat is itchy. Actually kinda everything is. I'm not sure what's wrong"
"Hope you're not getting sick" I said, I placed a hand on his forehead. "You don't feel warm. "Don't feel sick. Just itchy"
"Is it allergies?"
"I don't have any allergies, except for cats. And I haven't been around any" He said, he brought a fist up to his face and rubbed his nose. "That's strange" I looked around, just in case, but I also noticed his sweatshirt looked strange. "Who's jacket is that?" He looked a bit confused, "Isn't it yours?" he said giving me a strange look, "no, I've never seen it before."
"It was in your bag from yesterday"
"It's not mine" I said, "can I see it?" He took it off, I looked at it, "where did you say you found it?"
"Your bag"
"I must have grabbed someone else's at Inkigayo yesterday" I said turning the hoodie over my fingers. I handed it back to him. "Lets see if we can find out whose it is" I took my phone out, "it's definitely a guy's. It looks a bit small on you"
"That's because it is" he said, he took the hoodie back from me and put it on, "but it's warm and I'm cold" he sniffled and turned away from me and sneezed openly on the ground, "ktchA- hhktChaa"
"bless" he sniffled and mumbled a thanks. "so, from what I gathered, the boy groups there yesterday were txt, stray kids, nct DoJaeJung, and then Taeyang."
"Must be one of theirs. But I'm pretty sure it's not any of the TXT members. It's too small."
"could be Taeyang, it's hhKtchA- EktcHAa- the right size" He pulled out his phone, "And honestly any of the DoJaeJung members are the right height" He sniffled, I glanced over at him, I couldn't figure out why he was sneezing so much. I looked at the hoodie, and suddenly noticed a few white hairs. I facepalmed, "Jun take the jacket off" he looked confused, "why?"
"because, I just found something that will help narrow our options down" I explained as he pulled the jacket off and handed it to me. I plucked a single white hair off of the sleeve. "Cats"
"That's why I'm so sneezy!" He said, looking a bit annoyed but also amused. "Who of those people have cats?" I said, we both paused to think. "I know Lee Know from stray kids has cats. Multiple of them"
"Let's try there first then. And besides we're near the JYP building." He said, he rubbed his nose. "I'm glad we at least figured out what was making me sneeze" He said, he cleared his throat. "still itchy though" He said a bit exasperated. "Once we return the hoodie we can go back to the dorm and you can shower. Then we can get food."
"Sounds good, this is much more exciting than sitting around all day" he said with a laugh. I laughed too. "It would be a bit better if you weren't sneezing your head off with it"
"true, can't argue with you on that one" he said with an itchy sounding sniffle. "Do you by any chance have any tissues?" He asked, I shook my head. "sorry. Do you need to stop at a drug store and pick some up"
"Might be a good idea" he said, he rubbed his nose. "Alright, we'll stop on the way." I pulled out my phone and checked to make sure I was going in the right direction. We started off towards the JYP building. On the way we found a small corner store where we stopped to picked up a pack of tissues, "do you also need to get allergy medicine?"
"I have some at home. I think I'll be okay. Just don't get the jacket too close to me."
"Don't worry Jun, I'll protect you from the scary jacket" He rolled his eyes, I laughed. We left the store with the tissues. As soon as we were outside he took a few out and blew his nose. "Ugh"
"you okay?"
"yeah. Just itchy"
"Don't worry we're only about 10 minutes from the JYP building"
"okay, thanks"
"no problem" We walked to the building. Once we got there we stood awkwardly by the door, "How do we get inside?"
"I... don't know" I said, "Don't you have Yugyeom's phone number? He could let us in" He suggested, "He's not under JYP anymore though"
"oh yeah... he still might be able to help though"
"Maybe. We can try" I said, I took my phone out and clicked on Yugyeom's name, on the 3rd ring it picked up. "What's up Hao?"
"Can you help us get into the JYP building" The line was quiet for a second, "Hao, respectfully, what the fuck"
"Okay so basically yesterday on Inkigayo I accidentally grabbed someone's hoodie. And we're 90% sure it belongs to one of the Stray Kids members. So we're trying to get inside."
"got it" I heard him laugh a bit, "Let me call Chan, he'll be more help than me"
"thanks Yugs"
"No problem" I heard him laugh as he hung up,
Chan p.o.v
I was with my members practicing for our performance tomorrow evening, we were thankfully on break, when my phone rang. I was confused to see Yugyeom was calling me. "Hey hyung what's up?"
"This is a strange question, but can you let a friend of mine inside. They have to get inside, but I don't have access anymore."
"uh, okay" I said, "thanks" he hung up, but i heard his laughing as he did. I was confused, but saw no issue with it. I told my members that I would be right back and went downstairs to the front entry.
Surprised, was an understatement for what I saw. "Hello sunbaenim" I said bowing, "Hello Chan-ssi" Minghao said, "also, hyung is fine" Jun said. I noticed he looked a little worse for wear. "What brings you guys here?"
"uh, actually I think I accidentally picked up someone's hoodie at inkigayo yesterday" Minghao hyung said, he showed me the hoodie. I recognized it right away, "That's Minho's" I said, "come on, I'll show you where he is so you can give it to him" I led them through the halls to the practice room. "hey guys, I'm back. And I brought guests." The others all stopped what they were doing and politely greeted the seventeen members. "What are you guys doing here?" Jeongin asked, "um actually I accidentally stole your hoodie" Minghao said, as he pointed to Minho. Mingaho extended the folded sweatshirt to him, "Oh my God, thank you, I've been looking everywhere for it"
"Glad we could get it back to you" Jun said with a bright smile. "how did you guys figure out it was mine?" Minho asked, "We just looked up who the male idols that were at Inkigayo yesterday. There weren't a ton. Which helped. But then-"
"EhktcHA- KKtcHa hh-ehhktchA- eh-hktcHA"
"Bless you" We all said, Jun thanked us, "Thankfully we could use this-" Mingaho waved a hand over to Jun, "To conclude the owner of the hoodie also had cats"
"I KNEW IT" Hyunjin said, he turned to the seventeen members, "I was having a debate, because yesterday I was sneezing before out performance, and Minho hyung said there was no way it was just from the cat hair on his hoodie. This proves my point" Minho rolled his eyes, "Sorry for causing you to have an allergic reaction" Minho said to Jun, ignoring Hyunjin. "It's fine. Glad it helped us find who the hoodie belongs to." Jun said with a light laugh. "would you guys like to stick around for a little while?"
"thanks for the offer, but we've got to get going. It was nice talking to you guys" Minghao hyung said, "Hey, while you're here, why don't I get your numbers. Just in case something happens. Or if you guys ever want to do a dance collab definitely hit us up" Jun said, he set his phone down on a table, and each member took turns putting their number in. "Share them with me" Mingao hyung said, nudging his member. "I will" The two of them said goodbye and left the company.
Jun p.o.v
"I am so ready to get home, I'm so itchy I feel like I ate, drank, and bathed in poison ivy" I said, rubbing my eyes. "You can make it. It's only about 15 minutes. I know it's not ideal" Hao said, he squeezed my shoulder. We walked back to the dorm, and right away I went to take a shower, feeling relieved and better already.
The hot water loosened the congestion and brought itchiness with it. After showering I went off in search of Minghao. I found him in the living room, "I know we were planning on going out to eat, but I'm tired, and assumed you-"
"EHktCHa- kktcHHa"
"Bless you. I assumed you would be pretty worn out from your allergies, so I ordered food."
"sounds good. I am super worn out"
"should be here soon. In the meantime," he handed me the bottle of allergy pills. "thank you" I went to the kitchen and took them, and blew my nose. "That was fun. Despite my allergies acting up, it was fun to spend the day with you. And going on a little adventure"
"I had fun too" He said, "we should go on wild goose chases more often" he said, I laughed. "Agreed"

Hyung is allergic to everything
Fic inspired by my Seventeen S.coups dream reality texts.
Sickies: S.coups, Vernon, Mingyu, Dino
Caretaker/pov: Female y/n dating S.coups
Quick summary: A few of the members had gone out for the day and ended up visiting a friend for a while. This friend, however, owned cats, and the members had tons of fun playing with them. Unfortunately, several of the members back home were allergic to cats.
Your pov:
Dino and I were about to park outside after running a few errands when I got a text from Coups. âAre you home?â
âJust got back, why?â I responded.
âKwan, Jun, and Jeonghan stopped at Minhoâs on their way home.â
I groaned aloud and Dino quickly turned to me. âWae, wae?â
âSoonie, Doongi, and Dori mustâve left their mark.â
He cringed. âGo,â he told me. âIâll grab the bags and meet you inside.â
I hastily made my way inside and Vernon met me at the front door. His eyes were bloodshot and watering and it appeared he could barely keep them open.
I reached out and held his face in my hands. âOh, you poor thing.â I wiped his tears away with my thumb and guided him over towards the stairs. âSit here for now.â
Once Dino came in he went to sit with Vernon, wrapping an arm around his youngest hyungâs shoulders. I hoped his reaction wouldnât be too bad since he hadnât been home for long.
From the kitchen, I heard some shouting in Chinese and walked in to see Minghao scolding Jun.
I cut him off, âHao, hajima!â I turned to Jun, âJunhui, go shower and change.â He only nodded in response and walked away.
âY/n!â I heard Woozi call. âWhereâs the vacuum?â
âWay ahead of you!â Hoshi could be heard turning on the vacuum in the other room.
Meanwhile, Wonwoo basically delivered the other two troublemakers to me. Seungkwan had his head down.
âReally, guys?â I raised an eyebrow and sighed. âGo shower, please.â
A few minutes later, S.coups walked in with Mingyu who had clearly been sneezing up a storm. âWhere do you want us?â He asked and sniffled.
âYou two can go up to my room,â I answered. âMeds are in my desk drawer, I just need to find eyedrops for Vernon.â
When I returned to the living room, Dino was prodding at his nose. âDino-ssi, go upstairs and take some meds.â I could tell he was about to protest and I shot him a look. It worked to say the least. I handed Vernon a damp washcloth to press to his eyes and went to dig through the medicine cabinet.
The other members were busy cleaning the house to get rid of any fur or dander and I was extremely grateful. I took Vernonâs hand and led him upstairs. Mingyu was lying down with his head in Dinoâs lap. I had Vernon sit on the bed next to Coups and exchanged the washcloth with a tissue to dry his eyes.
âYou ready, Vernon-ah?â He asked. Vernon shook his head frantically before I took a look at his pink eyes.
His eyelashes suddenly fluttered and he cupped a hand over his face. âhESHhuh! huRESHH!â
âOh, bless you.â I dried his eyes again.
âSorry, thank you.â
âAlright, I have a trick for eyedrops so it wonât be scary, okay?â
Vernon nodded and I had him close his eyes and tilt his head up. I put a couple of drops into the inner corners of his eyes so that when he opened his eyes, the drops would fall in. S.coups caught the leftover tears.
âtchiii! tchiii! hehtchiii!â
âBless you, Min,â I said.
Dino blessed him and I saw him run his fingers through Mingyuâs hair.
In no time, Hoshi poked his head into the room. âEverything should be clean of cat hair now,â he said and smiled.
When Hoshi left, Seungkwan arrived. He seemed to be upset and apologized over and over again to which we expressed our thanks. I could tell he was going to be more thoughtful about allergies in the future.
Coups cuddled up next to me and rubbed his nose. I kissed him on the head. âYou okay, baby?â
âItchy,â he replied. I frowned and pulled him closer.
It wasnât long before his breath started hitching. âAh, jaechaegi,â I said.
âhhETCHhu! hATCHuhh!â He sniffled.
âBless you,â I cooed.
âBless you, hyung,â Vernon added.
He thanked us before sneezing again and blowing his nose.
When I looked over at the other boys, Mingyuâs eyes were closed as he rested on the maknae. âIs he asleep?â I asked Dino.
He shrugged before bringing an arm over his face. âhhESHhii!â
Mingyu jerked awake and his eyes widened.
âAigo,â I laughed.
âMianhaeyo.â Dino put a hand on Mingyuâs shoulder.
âItâs okay,â he assured Dino. âCan we watch a movie in the living room now?â He asked me.
âProbably.â I texted Woozi to come upstairs. âIâll ask Ji what he thinks.â
I heard Woozi whistling as he came up the stairs. Joshua came in right behind him.
âShua!â S.coups called. âYouâre home.â
Joshua was at an event the night before and had finally returned to Seoul. âHey, I heard what happened.â He sat on the other side of me, Coups still comfy in my arms opposite him. âHowâs everyone feeling?â Joshua directed toward no one in particular.
The boys all groaned and we laughed.
âJi,â I said. âMingyu wants to watch a movie downstairs, what are your thoughts?â
âShould be fine,â he states. âI vacuumed the couch so I would only worry about Vernon and Coups-hyung because they react the worst.â
So, with Wooziâs permission, Mingyu happily trotted down the stairs with Dino close behind.
âhhASHhuh!â Vernon desperately rubbed at his nose as his breath wavered.
âGod bless.â Joshua patted his back as his fellow American tilted his head toward the ceiling in anticipation. Eventually, he sighed and sniffled as the feeling of another sneeze subsided.
âVernon, do you want to come downstairs too?â Woozi asked.
He shook his head. âMaybe later.â He shrugged and Woozi and Joshua left.
S.coups blew his nose, leaving a slight pink tinge around it. âUgh, my nose is so itchy,â he whined.
âI know, baby, Iâm sorry.â
âHyung,â Vernon said. âYou can have my sneezes. I donât want them anymore.â He punctuated his sentence with another sneeze. âI canât stop.â
Coups laughed. âGive them to Dino.â
In that moment, I couldâve sworn I heard a sneeze come from downstairs. S.coupsâs head whipped around before looking back at Vernon in shock.
The three of us burst into laughter for a little while, only stopping when Vernon coughed and S.coups started pushing at his nose with a knuckle.
âDid you try the nose spray I got you?â I asked him.
He shook his head. âProbably should. Where is it?â
âMinghao put it away.â I pulled out my phone. âIâll have him bring it up.â
When he delivered the spray, I couldnât help but ask. âHas Dino sneezed at all since heâs been downstairs?â I explained the crazy coincidence that had happened earlier.
Minghao giggled. âOnly once but not recently,â he mumbled, thinking. âI think what you heard was me. Hoshi and Woozi are on a cleaning kick now since they had already started due to the cat hair. So of course they were dusting everything.â He took the plastic off of the nose spray and handed it to Coups.
S.coups glanced at it and hesitated. âItâs gonna make me sneeze a ton, huh?â
Vernon hummed in agreement. âOh, 100%.â
S.coups sighed and used the spray as fast as he could, letting out a small cough and sniffling, and tilted his head up while dabbing at his nose with a tissue. âAish, I hate it.â He groaned.
âAw, youâre okay.â I rubbed his back.
He had the tissue over his face and pinched his nose, either trying not to sneeze or wanting to make sure he didnât sneeze out any of the medicine.
âWoozi said it still works well even if you sneeze some of it out,â Minghao mentioned. âAt least for him it does.â
Coups nodded with his head still pointing up, his eyes closed, and his mouth hanging open. âhhATCHuu! hhETCHahh! hATCHiiew! TCHiiew!â
âBless you, bless you, wow,â Minghao squeezed his shoulder.
I pouted. âBless you, Cheolie.â
âBless.â Vernon offered up some more tissues.
âThank you, thank you, sorry.â S.coups accepted them. âBut I canât blow my nose now, right?â
Vernon shook his head. âI wouldnât if I were you.â
He wiped his nose instead, briefly massaging his sinuses.
âHyung, are you okay?â Jun said, him and Seungkwan standing in the doorway. Seungkwan looked like he was about to cry.
âIâm okay,â he assured them. âItâs okay.â
âOh, Kwannie, donât worry.â I cooed. S.coups ushered him to come in the room and reached his arms out.
Seungkwan climbed into his lap and Coups hugged him while I rubbed his back.
âIâm sorry,â he blubbered. âI feel so terrible.â
S.coups pouted. âOh, itâs okay, itâs not your fault.â
âHyung is allergic to everything.â Vernon tried lightening the mood. âAnd me and Mingyu just sneeze a lot. Seriously, weâre all used to it.â
Seungkwan laughed and stood back up.
âCâmon, letâs go watch a movie.â I took S.coupsâs hand and the six of us joined the others on the living room couch.

a/n: ahhh it was so good and nice to see a OT13 rwy performance and perf unit performance!! I was so happy seeing jun and minghao perform with the others, makes me kind of realize that i missed their presence a lot 𤧠+ I'm officially a weve (onewe fandom) and i already love onewe
---------------
There was just something about Dokyeom that didn't feel right.
Maybe it was his flawless skin underneath all of that mud or his silky black hair, like it has been brushed with the best comb. Even when he was sleeping, he looked different. He didn't quite fit in, you could feel it.
Maybe it was because he was sleeping way too much. Aside from his rather angelic, majestic, unreal visuals, height, and body for a typical peasant, he slept a lot and indeed, he slept like a log. Everyone was awake before 5 am and had already left the shack to get their hands on the wild food first, before the townsfolk did. Dokyeom didn't snore much like the other peasants before him but rather, he slept peacefully.
You wanted to touch his skin that looked smooth but was afraid a rough hand as yours would make his skin wilt, like a sickie stinky smell upon beautiful blooming roses.
In the end, you ended up shaking him awake. You were crouched in front of him, wearing a new pair of clothes; not the best fabric, but good enough for the chilly upcoming days. It was a long sleeve shirt and long pants. Simple.
âHey, Dokyeom,â You called out. His face twitched and he flipped to the other side like a stubborn baby, unready to wake up. âYou wake up quite late. I guess you were kidding when you said that while sleeping you were as good as dead.â
Dokyeom didn't budge. You were about to nudge him on the shoulder again but it was like something struck him and with eyes wide open, Dokyeom sat up abruptly, surprising you and causing you who was crouching beside him to fall flat on your butt.
âWhat? Are you surprised that the sun is up already and the tiny shack is suddenly so large due to the emptiness?â You guessed.
Prince Seokmin had actually just realized he rebelled against his father. He escaped the castle through a secret route last night, came into the village dressed as a peasant, got accused of stealing, and met you, a real peasant, who offered him a place to stay; at which, he stayed overnight, and now, he is officially a missing prince, who was supposed to be gone with the darkness for the star festival, but was still swept along with the dark when he was supposed to return to the light.
âI just remembered that I'mââ Seokmin paused and looked over at you. Last night, he was no longer prince Seokmin, but Dokyeom. He had to lie again. âIâI didn't sleep on a tree.â
You laughed and patted his shoulder. âLet's go wash up by the river. Then, I'll take you around town.â
-
Dokyeom seemed fascinated by the river water, sparkling, and trembling. You couldn't help but chuckle while you saw him poke a finger into the water, causing ripples all around it. You jokingly ordered him to quickly wash his face because the two of you were already late.
âWhat time is it?â Dokyeom asked, looking at the sky.
âAround 7 am.â
âHow can you tell?â
âThe position of the sun. It looks like 7 o'clock. People like us become sundials.â
His questions or rather his cluelessness was certainly puzzling. Nearly every peasant born under the peasant class could tell time by looking at the sky. God, it took so long to even learn to tell time. There was always a dirt path of wilting flowers and eggshells in front of the peasants' door. Every peasant nearly on their own.
Even so, you turned a blind eye to your doubt; the gut feeling that said Dokyeom was not Dokyeom. He was way too clean, way too kind, way too naive, unknowing of peasantry and it's ways. It just didn't feel right but there was something about him that also just felt so right. Like a puzzle piece clicking onto you.
âCome with me,â You finally said to Dokyeom, holding out your hand. He hesitantly held it. âwhile it's early in the morning, you get to see the most beautiful part of the kingdom. Without any townsfolk wandering the streets, it's much easier to admire the architecture and scenery.â
âBecause no one will bother you for nothing?â Dokyeom added, walking along slightly behind you, your hands grasping each other.
âThat's right. On the bright side though, if you're a lucky loser, you'll get fruit from the kind neighbors.â
You smiled and quickened your walking speed, eventually stopping beside a large tree with slightly yellow and browning branches. With one hand, you pointed to a tall building with a historical look.
âThat's the building that my peasant family built,â You said. âBack in the 80s when they were as young as I.â
âWhat? Shouldn't you be out of the peasant class?â Dokyeom's eyes were slightly enlarged. He gripped your hand tightly.
âMost of the time, no matter what you do, you're still peasant class.â You turned to face Dokyeom after staring at the tall, beautiful, ancient building made by your ancestors. âBack then, my parents, my grandparents, they worked on that building not for money, but for food and clothes and a place to sleep. When the owners died and the building was passed down, they kicked my parents out.â
You looked at Dokyeom in the eye and he could feel you squeeze is hand gently.
âIn this pathetic kingdom of Svuentin that they call the best, they overlook our class,â Seokmin could see the anger in your eyes. Resentment. âBecause we, no matter what we do, will stay in a peasant class. No matter what we do. You must know how hopeless we are, living like this. Lord, I can't even tell if we're living.â
Seokmin gulped and you let go of his hand.
âI'm used to it though. I'm not going to overthrow the king and his 13 princes. I'm not going to hold a coup d'etat, that's just going to get me killed,â You let out a faint smile and turned back to look at the building. âI'm going to enter the royal examination whenever that comes around again and earn my position in that kingdom. Then, maybe someday, someone will realize the true state we're living in.â
âWhat kind of state are we living in?â Seokmin asked as you started walking.
You chuckled and turned back to look at him.
âDokyeom,â The way you were smiling, he couldn't tell what it meant. âObviously, poverty.â
-
You showed him around like you promised; told him which shops were which. A blacksmith, candy shop, tailor shop, shoe store, the baker's bakery, a farmer's market, and all of the other shops in town.
You took him for a walk in the local park, crossing the stone bridge built over a river filled with koi fish, decorated with lily pads; into a field of flowers and buds, skipping on rocks to pass the river and head back toward the forest. It was the most fun you both had ever had.
You adored Dokyeom's smile. The more you looked at him, the more you wanted to smile just seeing his glittering eyes. Everytime your eyes met, you felt a spark in your chest, a slight burn. Everytime you reached for his hand and held it as you dragged him along, you felt a slight tingle in your stomach.
The way his eyes curved and disappeared as he laughed always cracked you up. It was just something you never saw before that seeing it made you want to see it a million times.
Now, the two of you were partially wet from the splashing river water as you sat on the large rocks that stood in the middle of the water passageway. You two were sitting back to back.
âThis was the most fun I ever had,â You confessed. You could hear Dokyeom's short breaths. âI didn't even wish for this but I'm glad that it came. I'm glad I met you, Dokyeom.â
âI think I like you too,â Dokyeom replied innocently. You laughed.
âYou like me?â
âWhat?â Both of you turned your heads over your shoulders and locked eyes.
âYou said that you thought you liked me too.â
His ears turned bright pink and he looked away. âIâI don't know. I didn't mean to say that. I justâjust wanted to say that I had fun too. I enjoyed it.â
You turned to face down, at the river water that was kicking against your bare feet. âI'm sure the townspeople are up by now.â
Earlier, Dokyeom said he wanted to revisit the town but when it was bustling and busy.
âWhy?â You asked.
âI just want to see what this world is like.â
âDokyeom?â The two of you at that time, were walking in the empty streets. âWhere exactly did a baby like you come from?â
Seokmin chuckled, trying to hide his nervousness.
âI mean, after washing away all that dirt, your face is so smooth, and clean,â You paused, which immediately caused Seokmin to as well. You held your hand up to his cheek and poked it softly. âAnd lord, I have never met a peasant with skin as fair as a prince!â
âMy parentsâIt's just genes.â
You laughed and continued walking.
Seokmin touched his cheek gently, trying to feel the lingering, warm touch. He was disappointed to feel just his soft cheek that would have had your fingerprint on it.
His heart was skipping rope, everytime its feet hit the ground, a burning sensation would echo throughout his entire body.
He just had to stare at you as you walked away with your hands clasped behind your back.
You were so bright, dazzling, and so beautifully shining, not quite as big a sunshine as the sun, but a special, unique, one and only among the many, hidden in the dark; you were a star.
-
When you two arrived at the town, it was, as expected, filled with people. Shops and schools were open and running, people were up and shopping, working and functioning.
Seokmin thought that maybe, there was a chance that the world you described was not such a bad world; that there was a good side that you and him didn't know about.
âNo peasant dares to walk these streets so boldly anymore,â You said, walking next to Seokmin rather confidently. âThey hide in the shadows, climb on the buildings, they take the smaller streets.â
âWhy?â
âDid the peasants in your previous town ever walk casually in the heart of the kingdom?â You asked, nudging his shoulder.
âWhat if they did?â Seokmin continued walking, making sure your shoulder was glued to his.
âThat would be heaven. I don't think they did though, because you're here instead of that amazing town.â
âWell...â Seokmin wanted to say something but he would only be adding a story to the lie. He stopped himself from talking further and fortunately, he heard the stomping of horses. He could recognize that sound from anywhere.
Seokmin quickly took your arm and pulled you aside as the horses and their horsemen came into sight. His heart pounded loudly, filed with nervousness. It was the first time he ever did something without permission.
âWhat?â You asked.
Seokmin couldn't reply. He just swiftly swept some dirt from the ground and sprinkled it on his face.
âWhat are you doing?â You were in disbelief at his actions. Now, your doubt couldn't stick low. He was just too suspicious for a peasant. The amount of liking you developed toward him couldn't blind the doubt anymore.
Dokyeom turned to you and he looked scared but also sorry. Your eyes locked for a moment but you couldn't catch what he was trying to convey. He didn't say a word as the clicks of horseshoes on the dirt road silenced all the noise. The clattering of people moving to the side caused the dirt to fog up, bringing an orangish cloud in the air.
âThis is from the royal family of Svuentin,â Seokmin recognized the voice. It was his eldest brother, Seungcheol, the best military leader. âI am first prince, Seungcheol. This morning, we have discovered that my eighth brother, Seokmin, has fled the kingdom. For anyone who finds him, we will reward a large amount of goods. The conditions are written on these flyers.â
Seungcheol took out a stack of papers and threw them into the air. He watched as they swayed while falling down. Seokmin didn't expect anyone to pick them up but was taken aback when people began grasping the papers aggressively.
One fell onto your hand as well.
There was a photo on the flyer in black and white but you knew that face way too well. The smooth skin, the sparkling eyes, the lips, the cheekbones, it was the very face you had spent the previous night and all morning with.
You clenched the paper and looked up at Dokyeom, who was now Seokmin.
Seokmin closed his eyes and let out a breath. When the horses and his brother left and the crowds dispersed, he grabbed your wrist and dashed. He didn't know where he was going but he knew he had to run.
Eventually, you took lead in the running, and the two of you arrived at the shack. It was empty still. The forest was rather quiet, not a single chirp of a bird.
âYou aren't Dokyeom,â You finally said after catching your breath, staring at Seokmin. âYou are no peasant.â
âI know, I know,â Seokmin said, feeling guilty for all the lies he told that helped him get a little closer to you. âI lied about everything, my name, where I slept before I found you, my family, where I came from, everything. I'm sorry.â
âYou were a prince who went missing,â You scoffed. âWhy did you leave with all that luxury to come down here, a pit of hell?â
âI wanted to see the world.â
âDon't tell me you came here dressed as a peasant to fix things.â
Your tone was cold and sharp. Seokmin knew that you were feeling nothing but betrayal. After all that bonding, you probably thought that you found someone like you, only for him to be someone else.
âI never get to see the world and what it's like despite being a prince,â Seokmin said. Your eyes were holding each other's gaze. âI'm nothing but a submissive and dumb pushover prince, okay? I just do things my dad tells me to do and I can't help it. You know that guy earlier on the horse? He's my brother and I want so bad to be like him, but I can't, it's not me.â
âThen what, what are you? Are you going to say Dokyeom when you're Seokmin? Does the real you want to be a poor person so that you could experience the real world?â
Seokmin sighed, shaking his head slightly as he spoke. âI know I shouldn't have lied, I know you're upset... I didn't want toâI didn't expect to end up this way, okay? It was justâsupposed to be a small adventure outdoors. I didn't meanâI didn't intend to sleep in this shack but because of youâno, because I was with you, and I wanted to know you, I wanted to stay.â
You stayed silent as you looked at him, still clenching the flyer. Seokmin continued looking at you in the eyes. He was genuine. Those eyes surely could talk.
The eye contact was fierce and you both just stared at each other's eyes, almost like it was a competition, until Seokmin gave in. His eyes closed as his hand gently grabbed your back, pulling you to his chest. He whispered a quiet apology and held you for a while as you stayed in his arms.
âYou turn me in,â Seokmin finally said, breaking the silence in the forest.
âWhat?â Your voice was breathy as your hands hesitated to hold his waist. His heart was pounding so quickly.
âYou, bring me to the palace,â Seokmin explained, holding you tighter. You could feel his hands brushing your back.
âSo that you get the reward.â
You pushed him away instantly and shook your head furiously. The wish you made to that star could come true right then and here. Gold could change your life forever, you could build a house, you could have more than three pairs of clothing, you could buy or make yourself food, you could learn.
âJust go into that palace,â You were tempted to say, âand turn yourself in!â
âThat's all I have to do, right?â You continued, sighing. Something inside you made the thought of receiving money feel not good, but it wasn't a terrible, disgusting, feeling either. Was it pride? Even so, what pride did a peasant have?
âThat's all I have to do,â you repeated to yourself, unable to look at Seokmin in the eyes.
Your wish could come true and that was all you could think about as your fists clenched, not knowing what you were angry at.
It must have been the star that granted you this opportunity.

youâre icky sicky but a cute bf!jun takes care of you 632 words (this is old but iâve been absent for a while (again) so here ya go)
Disrupted from slumber for what seemed like the millionth time, you sat up, blankets sliding down your torso as a hand flew up to your mouth, covering the violent spurts of breath that came scratching up your throat. Â With a final cough expelling itself from you, you hung your head, relishing in a deep intake of the oxygen youâd lost, before exhaling and repeating the same large inhale. Â
Upon finally opening your eyes, it felt as if a rush of needles pierced through your forehead, the light glimmering through the crack of drawn curtains driving directly into your line of sight. Â With a groan, you squeezed your eyes to a close before bravely opening them once again, peering this time to the side, at the empty expanse of wrinkled bedsheets.
Of course, you thought, the image of Junhuiâs body retreating from the bed began playing, Heâs at work. Â Defeatedly, your body dropped back against the mattress, arms thrown out beside you and hair now stuck to your damp forehead. Â Despite the want to get up and enjoy a rush of cool water sliding down your throat, you remained stationary, gazing at the expanse of blank ceiling above you with drooping eyelids.
âHeyâŚâ a quiet whisper breathed against your ear, fingers brushing against your forehead this time accompanied by a louder mumble. âWake up, loveâŚâ
Wrinkling your nose, you rolled to your side, eyes peeking at the face in front of yours, a small smile tugging at your lips. âWhy?â your small voice cracked as you sat up, scooting so that your back pressed against the wall, holding you in the upright position.
âYou should eat something,â Junhui smiled, sitting on the corner of the bed, a hand reaching out to push stray hair from your face. âI made you some breakfast.â
Turning, he picked up a wooden tray from the bedside table, setting it carefully on your blanket-covered lap. Â âItâs nothing special, just some eggs and a pancake,â he lifted his shoulders in a shrug, grabbing the utensils from the tray before picking up a slice of buttery pancake and holding it before your lips.
âOpen,â he smiled, pushing the soft bread through your lips and retracting his hand. Â You gazed at him with lidded eyes as you chewed, the corners of your mouth pulling upward into a smile.
âTastes good; really good,â you complimented, opening your mouth for the next bite heâd prepared for you. Â Taking the utensil from his hand, you opted to feed yourself, shoveling in bites and quickly consuming them.
âI didnât know if you would want orange juice or milk, so I brought you both,â in each hand, Junhui held out a glass, motioning you to take whichever you felt like drinking. Â Grabbing one, you quickly gulped it down, the liquid gliding smoothly down your scorching esophagus. Â
âNot that Iâm not glad you're here,â you spoke quietly, voice threatening to scratch if you increased your volume. âI really do appreciate this, but why are you still home?â
Junhui laughed lightheartedly, taking the wooden tray and placing it back on the table beside the bed before crawling over you, to the other side of the mattress. Â âYou were up all night coughing and all, so I called in. Â Thereâs no way Iâd leave you alone like this,â he exhaled, pulling the duvet up to your chin. Â He drew his arm from under the blanket, draping it across your shoulders and pulling you close enough to rest comfortably against his shoulder. Â âThe idea of lying around and watching movies all day was also appealing, though,â he taunted, the breath accompanying his laugh brushing down your cheek.
âEither way, thank you, Junhuiâ you muttered, lacing your fingers through his, before leaning up and placing a gentle kiss against his cheek.

I'm annoyed against this comment section FULL of "1 bIlLiOn LeT's StReAm As If It WaS tHe OnLy WaY tO sAvE hUmAnItY fRoM pOlLuTiOn CoMe On I wOn'T sLeEp BeCaUsE i StReAm DnA aNd BoY wItH lUv" and against all the people who spam "No emojis please it freezes views." As if not sleeping for this was worth it. As if YouTube's algorithm worked like that. So I don't know what to do. It also annoys me that people only retain from my reply "Stop talking about views you're f**king annoying." I mean, I already let people do what they want but it bothers me that comment section talk almost only about the same topic who isn't even the video, the music or BTS, but only views. Views everywhere. And nothing about the "No emojis" part? My reply isn't only "Stop talking about views god dammit, you're f**king annoying!" (sorry for the long reply) Also, if I don't look at the comments, then I stop being an ARMY, since this type of comments is EVERYWHERE under BTS videos! I know you want BTS to be glad and proud, but please, stop! We all understood the message! No need to invade the comments and replies section only for that! Edit #3: Stop replying to me that we reached 1B, I don't care.Leer mĂĄs

@21 years on earth
we reached 700M with Fake Love yesterday or a bit before, and ARMYs disn't calm down at all. So imagine DNA...

@Agust D
800M?? I think you mean 700M? Plus you kinda have a point there but dw they will chill on this mv.basically ARMYs main goal is to reach 1B for all bts mvs so obviously after achieving this goal for DNA they will move for other mvs ( recent ones are already ruined with let's stream comments lol so nevermind)

Agust D

@21 years on earth
they will probably chill on DNA, but not on others. Plus I feel like after the billion, ARMYs will fill the comment section with "LiKe If YoU aRe hErE aFtEr 1b" and things like that... who are even more annoying than "I wOn'T sLeEp So I wIlL sTrEaM aS iF iT wAs WoRtH mY lIfE lOl"... and the "no emojis" thing won't stop for sure... people will still spread fake news because they will probably want 2b...

I see your point! And kind agree but ARMY want to do this for BTS and show their utmost love and respect for BTS and show BTS their importance to us, ARMY. <â˘~â˘<~⥠But I do hope ARMY chill after we hit 1B ( I know ARMY won't chill after 1B ) but let them do what they want. ~⥠Not hating or anything <â˘~â˘> Love your pfp btw!Leer mĂĄs

I already let ARMYs do what they want. But the fact that I almost can't find a comment who doesn't talk about views and streaming is quite annoying. Btw thanks!

Sicktember Day 23: Under a Spell
Fandom: Seventeen
Sickie: Jun (cold)
Caregiver(s): Mingyu (virtually)
Word Count: 878
Notes: Two Jun fics in a row. It's almost like he's my bias-wrecker or something.
âJunnie-Hyung!â Mingu cheered instantly when the Facetime call was accepted. He had been biting his lip, hoping that Jun wasnât busy. He couldâve always left a voicemail if so, but he just really wanted to talk with Jun tonight. And the feeling appeared to be mutual; the sight of Mingyu made his hyung smile on impact.Â
âMingyuuuu!â Jun exclaimed, shifting around to a more comfortable position. He appeared to be on a couch, wherever he was. âHow are you?â
âI miss youuu!!!â
âI miss you too! How are promotions going?â His voice sounded off to Mingyu, but he figured it was the audio quality.Â
âAmazing, hyung!â Mingyu sighed. âEverything has been going so smooth, but itâs just different without and Hannie-hyung.â
Jun pouted. âI know, Iâm sorry.â
âNot your fault. Youâre living your dreams right now! Howâs filming?â
âFilming is going great! My scene partners have been fantastic, andâŚâ Jun broke off, disappearing off the screen, sneezing twice.
Mingyuâs face fell. Something in his brain clicked. âHyung, are you sick?â
Jun nodded, swiping at his nose. âYeah. Just a cold, though.âÂ
It was Mingyuâs turn to pout. âIâm sorry to hear thatâŚâÂ
âItâs okay, really. It was bound to happen. I had to get thrown in a pool for a scene the other day, and wet clothes plus cold weather plus AC blasting inside PLUS erratic sleep hoursâŚâ He shrugged. âItâs more annoying than anything.â He sniffled, rubbing at his nose again. âBesides, Iâve had worse.â
âBut weâre not there to take care of you!â
âNo, and thatâs definitely been felt. Luckily I have the next two days off anyway, and my cast mates have been really kindâŚâ
âBut they're not us,â Mingyu interrupted.Â
Jun shook his head. âNo, theyâre not you.âÂ
Mingyu couldnât fight the frown off his face. Yes, of all the members, Junhui was probably one of the most adept at taking care of himself when sick; he never made a fuss about it but advocated for his needs and spoke up to let others know what was going on, took his medicine and drank plenty of fluids and slept as much as possible. But just because Jun was self-sufficient didnât mean he had to be. When he was at home, in the dorm, with his team, they knew how to take care of him without being asked. Mingyu knew exactly how Jun liked his tea, knew which blanket in the living room he preferred, knew the recipes that comforted him the most. And knowing that his brother was so far away from all that⌠it broke his heart. Â
âGyu? Are you still with me?â
âY-yeah. Iâm just⌠bummed that youâre sick and I canât be there with you.â
Jun laughed. âIâm pretty sure you have better things to do then hang out with me and my germs.â
âOkay, fine, Iâd rather not hang out with your germs, but Iâd take them if it meant I could hug you.â
âAre you homesick for me?â
Mingyu blinked. âHonestly, yeah, I think so. Arenât you?â The words escaped his mouth before he could stop them. He slapped a hand against his mouth, eyes comically wide.Â
Thankfully Jun laughed before his smile turned thoughtful. âDesperately. But I am also so happy to be here. This all feels soâŚâ He began to move his hands in a circle, searching for the right word. He opened his mouth to respond, but pitched forward with another sneeze instead. âSee, I donât even have words for how much I miss you!â
Mingyu chuckled, shaking his head. âShould I let you get back to resting, then?âÂ
âNo, no, I want to hear about the comeback!â
âAre you sure?â
Jun nodded. âTalking with you has been the highlight of my week.â
So, beaming brighter than the sun, Mingyu talked. He explained every detail of their comeback from practice to pre-recording to performances. He explained their outfits, their sets, the memes and jokes that theyâd created. After a few minutes, distracted in his story, Mingyu noticed that Junâs eyes had slipped closed. He hadnât noticed when that had happened.Â
âHyung? Are you still with me?â
Jun smiled before opening his eyes. âYes, Iâm listening. Your voice is putting me to sleep, though, itâs so peaceful. Itâs like magic.âÂ
âAdila kiya akiya shurapoeh / With a language only we know, I cast a spell,â Mingyu sang softly. Jun beamed. Mingyu continued singing, starting back at the top of âSpell.â Jun moved his shoulders along to the beat, arms twisting and winding in an interpretive version of the actual choreography. Mingyuâs voice grew sillier in time with Junâs movements until both of them were giggling hysterically.Â
Suddenly a knock came on Mingyuâs door. He turned to see Joshua poking his head in, gesturing that it was time for dinner. Mingyu nodded before turning back to the phone. âOkay, hyung, Iâm so sorry but I gotta go.â
âThatâs okay. Thanks for chatting so long. I love you, Gyu.â Jun formed a heart with his hands.Â
Mingyu copied the gesture. âLove you too, Junnie. Feel better soon, okay? Pretend Iâm there giving you the biggest hug in the world.â
Jun wrapped his arms around himself. âI can feel the love.âÂ
âGood. Bye, hyung.â
âBye bye!âÂ

Sicktember Days 17 "Brain Fog/Spaced Out" and 22: "You didn't use my cup, did you?"
Fandom: Seventeen
Sickie: Woozi, Jun, ??
Caregiver(s): Seventeen
Word Count: 1,433
Notes: Coming in late on the 22nd with a double-hit Sicktember fill! There's less exposition here, which feels weird to me, but I think it's a good exercise for me to tell a story without belaboring every little detail. Let me know if you agree/disagree! Also, this scene is an elaboration of a one-off comment made in a longer Seventeen piece I have in the works.
To say that Jihoon didnât feel good was actually a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Jihoon felt horrible. His throat was on fire, his head was pounding, his limbs were heavy and achy and he wanted to separate them from his body until they could get their act together. But deadlines couldnât wait for his immune system to throw a bitch fit.Â
âJihoon, I think you might have strep,â Seungcheol said, leaning in the doorway, arms crossed over his chest. This was the third time the leader had interrupted him in the past hour, and Jihoon was personally over it.Â
âSucks.â Jihoon continued to click around on his computer. Admittedly, he wasnât doing anything: his head had started hurting god knows how long ago, and he hadnât been able to write or compose anything of substance. But Seungcheol didnât need to know that.Â
âHyung, come on.â When had Vernon arrived?! âYouâre not weaseling out of this. Channie and I could hear you coughing all night.â
âJihoon, you need to go with a manager to get tested for strep and other things cause if you do have that and stay here and infect us all, the comeback will be postponed,â Seungcheol added. Jihoon snapped his chair around to face them. Did his best not to fall over from the dizziness that resulted from such a dramatic choice.Â
âFine.â Jihoon spun back around, clicked the necessary âsaveâ buttons, and powered off his computer. The third spin back towards his members was what he would later say did him in, when in fact it was the combination of all the spins, lack of water, and the fever.Â
As he stood up, Jihoon stumbled forward. Vernon caught him instantly. Could the kid teleport now? When the fuck did he get so close?Â
âYou good?â
âIâm just⌠I feelâŚâ
Vernon smirked. âWoozy?â His lips pressed tightly together to hold back a laugh at his own joke, especially when under the scrutiny of Jihoonâs sharpest glare.Â
âBe nice, Nonie,â Seunghceol chided, but his smile said otherwise. Jihoon suddenly wished he wasnât already wearing a mask to potentially infect both of them with this demon virus and wipe those stupid smirks off of their faces. But almost as instantly as heâd had that thought, he realized just how mean it was, and nearly apologized aloud to Seungcheol and Vernon as the two of them so kindly gathered up his things and accompanied him to the company van. Maybe this really was a demon virusâŚÂ
Tests at the hospital revealed it was, in fact, strep throat.Â
Seungcheol smirked at his phone when Jihoon texted him immediately upon receiving the results: âI am setting a timer and will be back in the studio exactly 24 hours after I take that first dose of medication.âÂ
âI would expect nothing less,â the leader texted back. He then set about quickly alerting the members to Jihoonâs condition, warning them to leave the producer alone (partially to avoid contagion, mostly to protect them from the wrath of a Jihoon barred from his work).Â
*
Jihoon was not back in the studio 24 hours later. Even though he technically wasnât contagious anymore, he still felt terrible. His fever didnât budge for two days despite the antibiotics and the attempted ministrations of the members. He was dizzy, disoriented, and breathless from coughing so much. The sore throat was the worst, though, too painful for him to even speak the day after his diagnosis. Jihoon had spent a good part of that day in tears, unable to explain anything or ask for help, both of which he hated on a regular basis.Â
But on the third day, something clicked. His body finally got its shit together, and by day four, he was up and about, ready to return to his regularly scheduled programming, albeit with eleven worried pairs of eyes constantly checking up on him.Â
Said worried eyes were the reason he wasnât dancing today. The vocal and hip hop units were gathered together in the main practice room, the performance unit called early to clarify some choreography notes in a smaller studio before joining them. Seungcheol had insisted that Jihoon not push himself too hard yet, take at least a day to simply watch, observe, and critique the new routines theyâd been working on. Jihoon hadnât complained; dancing tired him out on a good day, and he certainly didnât want to risk the brain fog making a comeback. So here he was, sat on a chair, legs crossed as he watched his membersâ tomfoolery.Â
Jihoonâs vantage point from the front of the room also meant he saw the performance unit members before the rest. Which meant that he saw Junhei before Seungcheol. Which meant that Jihoonâs stomach dropped to the floor in a way that had nothing to do with his prior illness.Â
It was Joshua would noticed the performance unit next, clocking the mask and tired eyes the eldest dancer was sporting. âJunnie, you good?â All eyes moved towards the doorway.Â
Jun shrunk a bit from the attention, but he smiled disarmingly. Minghaoâs hand rubbed soothingly at his lower back. âYeah, just have a bit of a sore throat. Could be overuse or just a one off thing, but I know Jihoonie just had strep so⌠weâre wearing the mask and chilling to the side, and Iâll tell you the second it gets worse.âÂ
Soonyoung clapped the dancer on the back, and pointed dramatically at him, eyes locked on Jihoon. âNow thatâs what you call responsible.â Jihoon rolled his eyes. With a quick look at Seungcheol and Jeonghan, Joshua stood and pressed a gentle hand to Junâs forehead. Worry etched on his face, Joshuaâs hands moved to Junâs neck, softly probing his lymph nodes.Â
âYeah, theyâre swollen, alright,â the older man commented, lips pouting sympathetically. âIâm definitely not a doctor, but I think itâs safe to assume strep.â
âYou didnât use Wooziâs cup, did you?â Jeonghan asked. âCause⌠how on earth could he have even gotten you sick?â Junhei shrugged, looking slightly just as lost as the rest of them. âWeâve had Jihoonie quarantined for like, four days. I mean, except for the bathroom, I guess, but we were so diligent about cleaningâŚâ
âRight, he hasnât been anywhere near you this-â Seungcheol was cut off by an apocalyptic gasp from Jihoon. âWhat?!â
The leader had never seen Jihoonâs eyes so wide. âThat wasnât my toothbrush.âÂ
âWhat?â
âI was super dizzy the other night.â He pinched the spot between his eyes. âIt was so late, I turned on the wrong light. I just grabbed the first green toothbrush I saw. It wasnât my fucking toothbrush. It was Junheiâs.âÂ
Seungcheol felt his entire body deflate as his mind ran in several conflicting circles. His confusion wasnât helped when Mingyu burst out laughing. And then Vernon. And then Seungcheol couldnât tell who, cause several members were falling into hysterics.Â
âGuys, this isnât funny!â the leader exclaimed.Â
âActually, hyung, this is comedy gold,â Soonyoung replied, wiping a tear from his eye. âLike⌠this would only happen to us.â
âContagion by toothbrush? I mean, come on!â Seungkwan shook his head. âThatâs a sitcom scene right there. How is this our real life?â
âIt would only happen to us, thatâs for sure,â Minghao nodded. His hand hadnât left Junheiâs back this entire time, and he now shifted so that that arm was around the older dancerâs shoulders. âIâm sorry itâs at your expense thoughâŚâ
Jun shrugged. âHonestly, Iâm just happy to have provided you all some joy today.â
âStop!â Jihoon cried from across the room. He hid his face in his hands for a moment before glaring up at Jun. âDonât be all cute and fine with this. Be angry with me.â
Jun shook his head. âIâm not mad at you, Jihoonie-ah. It was an accident, and antibiotics and popsicles exist, so Iâm not super worried about that, butâŚâ
âYou should yell at him for the fun of it, though,â Soonyoung interrupted.Â
âYeah, Iâd rather not yell at all.â Junâs fingers touched at the base of his throat. âBut, I do feel itâs important to say that⌠umm, my toothbrush was in the wrong spot again this morning.â
âWait⌠what?â Minghao blinked, along with the rest of the members. They could see Jun blushing behind his mask.Â
âMy toothbrush was in the wrong spot again this morning,â he repeated cautiously.Â
âWell, who else has a green toothbrush?â Jihoon asked, eyes darting around the room.Â
Mingyu, whoâd been sitting on the floor, flung himself onto his back, hands pressed over his eyes. âOH FUCK!âÂ

Sicktember Day 30: Past Prompt - Warm Soup
Fandom: Seventeen
Sickie: Joshua (cold), also features some DK (voice loss) and Jun (injury)
Caregiver(s): Seventeen
Word Count: 2,110
Notes: Y'all. We did it! We made it to Day 30! ALSO, this is a piece from the fic that inspired me to start writing Kpop sickfics. It is a monster of a fic, and not even done yet, but I hope to share it with you by the end of the year. The basic premise is "what can go wrong, will go wrong," and, at this point in the fic, we have established a voiceless DK (unspecified cause of voice loss at this time), an injured Junhei (knee subluxation and back sprain), a cold-ridden Joshua, and a fighting Hoshi and Seungkwan. Every member gets whumped in some way (physical or emotional) throughout the remainder of the fic. Some of those events are foreshadowed here...
Fragile was not a word Seungcheol could ever remember using to describe his members. Not even in their pre-debut days, when they were still children learning to navigate the harsh entertainment world. That had felt like growth; young, impressionable, hungry. Yet never fragile.Â
But today, fragile was the inescapable word running through Seungcheolâs head at the frustrated sadness on Seokminâs face as he was held back from joking around with his friends; the tears sliding from Junheiâs eyes when asked to move his injured leg; the protective arm Hansol wrapped around Jisooâs waist the only thing holding the vocalist up as they left the soundstage; the fire shooting between Soonyoung and Seungkwanâs eyes. His members were so fragile.Â
And Seungcheol had no idea what had transpired between Soonyoung and Seungkwan, but the tension on the car ride home was near suffocating and doing absolutely nothing for the worry eating away inside of him over the other ailing members. Â
In fact, the only thing keeping Seungcheolâs head from exploding was the strategic placement of a very sick Joshua in the middle seat. It was obvious to everyone that the elder vocalist had turned the corner from âcoming down with somethingâ to âmiserably illâ between their practice that morning and filming that night, but, true to form, Joshua had refused to sit out for the filming, leading to him falling asleep immediately in the car, cuddling into the shoulder of the closest person, (who was, conveniently, Jeonghan). Thus, putting Joshua in the middle seat would ensure a quiet ride home as no one would risk waking him up. It was foolproof, (and certainly not without evidence, as the car usually stayed quiet when any member was unwell and asleep.)
When the van finally pulled up to their dorm building, Seungcheol waited until everyone else was out of the car before unbuckling his seatbelt and pushing his door open. He watched his team. Jeonghan was leading the way, already punching in the door code, talking loudly to Seungkwan about something (Seungcheol could really only make out the sound of his voice). Seungkwan had his arm around Joshuaâs waist, the elder vocalist leaning heavily against him. Soonyoung was at the opposite end of the pack from Seungkwan, his arm thrown around Seokminâs shoulders. Good, Seungcheol thought to himself. The problems are isolated.Â
By the time heâd entered the dorm, the group had already begun to disperse, but he thankfully didnât miss the most important moment.Â
âYouâre home!â Jun exclaimed, sitting up on the couch. Mingyu barreled forward, pausing when he saw Junâs face twist with pain.Â
âSit up too fast?â Jihoon asked with a sympathetic half smile, pausing briefly as the rest of the team maneuvered around him into the dorm.
âYeah,â Jun sighed, rubbing at his lower back a few times. Mingyu waited on tip toe until Jun had recovered from the shock of moving and, smiling bright, opened his arms for Mingyu to join. The rapper collapsed against the dancerâs chest, falling to his knees next to the couch. âHow was the taping?â
âIt went well. Everyone locked in and re-blocked like champs,â Jeonghan replied, high-fiving Seokmin as he passed by the couch to ruffle Junâs hair. Minghao had also crept over, and was crouched next to the arm of the couch, head resting on Junâs back.Â
Mingyu had yet to let go of Jun. âIâm so sorry, hyung,â he whimpered.
âYah, what are you sorry for? It was an accident,â Jun scolded lightly, lightly rubbing his fingers up and down Mingyuâs spine. âIâm okay. Youâre okay. Everything is okay.â The dancer smiled up at Jeonghan. âIâm so happy everything went smooth.âÂ
âMe too.â The older man smiled back, then took a quick glance around the room. Jun followed his eyes as Mingyu released him in search of dinner and Minghao moved to take his place.Â
âEverything okay?â Jun asked, lowering his voice so only the two members closest could hear.Â
Jeonghanâs mouth pressed into a line. âIâm not sure. Something feels⌠off.âÂ
âLike a stormâs coming,â Minghao, (who had wrapped his arms around Junâs waist and smushed his head against the older dancerâs side,) added. Jun frowned. âHoshi and Kwannie are fighting.âÂ
âI knew that.â Jun gave a laugh, patting Minghaoâs cheek, gently signaling him to let go. The younger dancer pouted as he shifted away so the older man could lay back down. Once Jun had lain back, Minghao shifted too so that his head rested against the couch by Junâs hand. Chuckling again, Jun began to play with his hair. âYouâre like a puppy.âÂ
âShut up,â Minghao grumbled, grabbing Junâs hand and casually threading their fingers together. Silently yelling, âIâm so fucking glad youâre okay.â
âWhy donât you go eat, love?â Jun asked, more of a request than a question. Minghao nodded, disentangling his grip on the older dancer and jogging towards the kitchen. Jun looked back at Jeonghan, tapping his hip to get the older manâs attention. âStormâs coming?âÂ
Jeonghand nodded, mouth quirked to the side. âCanât say much more than that. But weâre bound to explode any second now. You know Dokyeomie lost his voice, and heâs getting frustrated with that. Wonwooâs a little off, and I canât tell if it was a bad nightâs sleep or something more. Shuaâs not feeling well at all. Soonyoung and Kwannie are at each otherâs throats, and thatâs gonna get worse before it gets betterâŚâ
Jun looked over at the group gathering around the table. He then reached up and grabbed Jeonghanâs hand with a tight squeeze. âWeâve weathered storms before. Nothing we canât handle.â Jeonghan smiled at him.
âYouâre so wise, Junnie-ahâŚâ
Junhei shrugged. âItâs the drugs.â
âNo, donât sell yourself short.â
Minghao returned to the couch after filling his plate as quickly as physically possible.Â
âTable,â Jun ordered, pointing back at said furniture piece. Minghao whined, very uncharacteristically, but returned as told at the table. Jeonghan snorted, ruffling Junâs hair before moving towards the food himself. He gave Minghao a quick kiss on the head to soothe his pouting, which was quickly forgotten anyway as Jihoon stumbled back into the dining room with his comfort clothes on.
âMan, Iâm hungry,â the producer said.
âGood thing we have dinner,â Jeonghan commented sarcastically.Â
Jihoon shrugged. âI donât.â
âYou didnât order anything?â Seungcheol asked. Jihoon shrugged again. âJIHOONIE! Stop doing this!âÂ
âSorry! I get distracted!â Jihoon replied defensively.Â
Chan, his mouth full, pointed meaningfully at his plate.Â
Seungcheol sighed. âYou want what Dinoâs having?â Jihoon moved closer to the table, and carefully picked at a piece of Chanâs meal with his fingers. He chewed slowly, contemplatively, then nodded. âYeah, thatâs great.â
âHyung, we passed the phone around to make sure everyone ordered something,â Hansol pointed out.Â
âI wasnât hungry then.âÂ
âBoooooooo!â Mingyu gave a teasing thumbs down. âBad excuse!â Jihoon pivoted to look at him, and Mingyu yelped, holding up his hands in surrender.Â
âThatâs what I thought!â Jihoon nodded at Mingyu, winking conspiratorially as he sat down next to Chan and began eating off his plate. Seokmin passed him a plate of his own, and Chan quickly helped split the food for them both.Â
âWhat do we want to hear tonight?â Wonwoo asked, connecting his phone to the Bluetooth speaker permanently housed on the kitchen counter.Â
âPlay something I can pop my ass to!â Jun called from the couch. Chan burst out laughing, joined by Mingyu and Seungkwan, while Jihoon and Minghao looked at the dancer like he had two heads. Hansol nearly spit out his water all over the table, which would have been disastrous given that Seokmin actually knocked his water bottle over, spilling its contents everywhere.Â
âGege, you canât even pop your ass right now,â Minghao replied, completely unfazed as Seungkwan and Seokmin rushed to clean up the spilled water. Mingyu tossed them the paper towels over the kitchen counter.Â
âOn the contrary, my ass is probably the only thing Iâm still able to pop,â Jun responded without a moment of hesitation, comedically matter-of-fact.
Minghao held his gaze while the others continued to laugh. Junhei stared back, fully serious. âWhat kind of drugs do they have you on right now?â the younger man asked.Â
Jun smiled like a little kid. âThe fun kind.âÂ
âMore like the filterless kind.â Jihoon shook his head. But no one missed the way the corners of his lips kept smirking up.Â
âThatâs what I said. Fun.â
Seungkwan appeared from the hallway, pulling Joshua (hair still damp, towel around his neck) along by the hand. Seungkwan pulled out a chair and placed Joshua into it, patting his head before moving towards the takeout bags on the counter.
Mingyu slid a bowl across the counter, indicating that it was for Joshua. Hansol grabbed the bowl and placed it carefully in front of Joshua, then slid his own plate to the empty chair next to the American member, moving to sit next to him. Joshua stared at the bowl with adorable confusion. Mingyu grinned. âItâs the soup your mom sent over. We thought you might enjoy a taste of home tonight.â
Joshuaâs smile was soft and genuine. âThank you.âÂ
âYou knowâŚâ Mingyu leaned coyly over the kitchen counter, âyou could thank me even more with a kiss.â
âMingyu, do not coerce him into giving you his cold,â Jihoon said, not even bothering to look up from his (Chanâs) food.Â
âOh come on,â Mingyu whined, his whole body deflating. âThat would be a perfect excuse to bow out of that stupid double date on Tuesday.â
âJust tell them you donât want to go, hyung,â Hansol said, clearly exasperated with the amount of whining about said date.
Soonyoung nodded in agreement, casually sidling over to take the towel from Joshuaâs neck, gently drying his hyingâs hair. âThatâs the right thing to do, Gyu. You already met the girl once, and you didnât like her like that. Jaehyun will understand if you tell him the truth. And if he really likes the other girl, he doesnât need you to be there, and youâll be doing all of them a favor if you just tell him that.â Joshua looked up at him, meeting Soonyoungâs eyes with another grateful smile. Soonyoung pressed a kiss to the top of his head.
âOr I could just happen to fall ill right before the day and have a real reason to cancel that doesnât hurt this girlâs feelings,â Mingyu retorted.Â
âThatâs stupid,â Soonyoung replied teasingly.
âYouâre stupid,â Mingyu countered.Â
âWait, was the soup an actual act of kindness, or a bribe to get you sick?â Joshua asked, smirking as he finally caught up to the conversation.Â
âIt was Hansolâs idea, actually,â Mingyu replied, catching the slightest hint of a joke in Joshuaâs eyes. âMy intentions are pure!â
âThis is corruption, and you, sir, are a scoundrel!â Minghao exclaimed, thrusting his fork in Mingyuâs general direction, a few pieces of rice hitting Seokminâs face. Minghao apologized fast as the vocalist fumbled for his notebook.Â
âWhoâs the scoundrel now?!â Seokmin wrote, underlining the word scoundrel several times. The entire room echoed with laughter. Chan nearly fell out of his chair from laughing so hard.Â
Hansol noticed that Joshuaâs eyes had started to droop closed despite still sitting up. The feeling of Hoshiâs soothing hands in his hair mustâve lulled him to sleep. âHyung, you donât have to finish the whole bowl.â
Joshuaâs eyes snapped open with a start. âNo, no, Gyu made it special.â Even as he moved to take his spoon back, his eyelids were already drooping heavily again.
Hansol took the spoon from him. âWe can save it and reheat it tomorrow.âÂ
âDonât let Mingyu touch that soup. Or the spoon,â Jihoon added, casting a glance at the younger man who, mouth full, threw his arms up in exasperation. The table erupted in laughter.Â
Swallowing quickly, Mingyu yelled over the noise, âHey, Iâm not that desperate, damnit! Itâs a kiss or nothing.â
âSays the guy who once used Junheiâs toothbrush when you knew full well he had strep throat,â Jihoon replied.Â
âTHAT WAS A MISTAKE, AND YOU KNOW IT!â Mingyu cried. âWe both had green toothbrushes! It was dark, and it was late, andâŚâ
âGyu, weâre messing with you,â Seungcheol laughed, cupping the younger rapperâs hands. His thumbs began to massage the tension from his hands.Â
âAnd donât forget who else had a green toothbrush at the time, and accidentally used mine first and gave me strep in the first place!â Jun yelled from the couch, staring directly at Jihoon.
âI do not retract my prior statements.â The producerâs words were met with another wave of laughter.Â

Trick or treat!!!!! đ
~ đ Happy Halloween, yâall!!! This is my first trick or treat piece that is coming out of my unclaimed, random dialogue pool. Itâs not a piece of a WIP, this is it, folks. Unless⌠the muse strikes! đ ~
âWhat are you doing?â Minghao croaked, unable to defend himself otherwise as his legs were maneuvered so the perpetrator could sit down on the couch with him. Which was exactly the opposite of what Minghao wanted; heâd chosen to nap on the short couch for a reason.
That, of course, did not stop Jun at all. The older man simply made himself comfortable, resting Minghaoâs legs on top of his lap, frog socked feet dangling off his thighs. âIâm healing you⌠through your calves.â Junâs fingers massaged lightly at said calves.
Minghao snorted, shook his head before letting it fall back against his pillow. âYouâre so weird.â

Come Lean Your Back On Me (Pt. 1)
Fandom: Seventeen
Sickie/Whumpee: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua (pneumonia)
Caregiver(s): Seventeen (Woozi, DK, and Dino get highlights)
Word Count: 3,656
Notes: This takes place around Seventeen's third year as a group. They're still new-ish, and the pressure on the eldest members to be there for/provide an example to the younger ones is still high cause they haven't fully figured out how to be a team yet. Scenes between the three 95ers will balance out; if someone's featured more heavily here, and others' time is coming in part 2.
Title is from Seventeen's "S.O.S." Taking one out of @fairyniceyeah's playbook for a title 𩷠Finally, there's probably some medical inaccuracies, but c'est la vie. Enjoy!
It wasnât supposed to be a problem. Until it very much was.Â
It was a three day concert engagement. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sure, theyâd never done three in a row before, but there had to be a first time for everything, right? And Seventeen was ready for the challenge. Ready to prove themselves yet again. Each time the bar rose higher, they rose to meet it. The sky was, is, and always would be their limit.Â
But, as luck would have it, fate tried its best to ruin their plans.
A week before the concert, the three maknaes got hit with food poisoning after stopping for some ill-advised snacks at the seedy convenience store two blocks from the dorms. It had taken 48 hours for them to be even remotely human again. 48 hours of tears, puking, and dehydration, all supervised by the careful eyes of their hyungs. Particularly the 95 line. Seungcheol gave the best hugs, and also had no problem manhandling (read carrying) a member back to bed when their legs gave out. Jeonghan was in peak form managing a sick member, somehow knowing exactly what someone needed before they even knew themselves. And Joshua had a way with words, soothing the worst post-fever dream ramblings and singing them to sleep to ignore the pain for a while.Â
Five days before the concert, Wonwoo broke his glasses. It was easy enough for him to get a replacement pair the next day, but the suddenness of the break had rattled him. Mostly because it had been his fault. Heâd been messing around with Mingyu in the studio during practice, even after Soonyoung had told them to stop, which was big because it was SOONYOUNG, king of mess arounds, telling them to cut it out. They hadnât listened, and when Wonwoo tripped, his glasses flew off of his face and crashed to the floor, one lens popping free and cracking on the floor. Wonwoo was, above all, embarrassed. Seungcheol had sought him out after practice, reassuring him that it was okay, and heâd have new lenses in time for their big day. Everyone deserved to mess around from time to time.Â
Four days before the concert, Minghao twisted his ankle. It had been a complete accident, unavoidable, and yet Jun had appeared at Jeonghanâs door that night dragging a sobbing Minghao, begging the elder vocalist to help him convince Minghao that he hadnât ruined everything. Theyâd spent two hours on Jeonghanâs bed, consoling and distracting and loving on the dancer until Minghao finally cracked a smile. His ankle wasnât broken or torn, but it hurt like hell, and he was still limping the morning of the first show, but he felt better about the whole affair.Â
The day before the concert, Seokmin and Mingyu had gotten in an argument over stolen leftovers and dirty dishes. And while that was a topic that usually only sparked a minor skirmish, it exploded into an all out yelling match with the nerves and anticipation of the concert coursing through their veins. It had set everyone on edge, only grinding to a halt when Joshua had intervened, physically standing between the two and talking them down. Heâd convinced them to hear each other out, to apologize and mean it, and had the duo hugging it out before the fight could infect the rest of the members.Â
In short, the week leading up to the concert was pure chaos.Â
And in all the chaos, no one had noticed a detail that would prove to be of dire significance in a matter of days.Â
Jeonghan himself hadnât noticed the symptoms of an oncoming cold. He assumed his throat was dry because of the changing weather, that the headache was the result of the recent late nights taking care of his members. And because he didnât assume that these little annoyances were caused by anything contagious, Jeonghan had, in true Jeonghan fashion, continued to share drinks and steal food from his best friends. Not to mention hanging all over them; it was rare for a day to go by without Jeonghan poking, hugging, and just generally laying all over Seungcheol and Joshua. Which was exactly how all three of them ended up sick on the day of the first show.Â
But that wasnât a problem. Theyâd been at this idol thing for three years; it wasnât like a scratchy throat and the sniffles would stop them from performing.Â
Besides. It couldnât be a problem. They had the kids to worry about.Â
Junhei would later comment that perhaps the groupâs biggest problem that day was how well the three eldest members could hide their own suffering for the sake of the group. They had used the chaos of the day to their momentary advantage, been allowed to still perform in the cold night air of the first day, the rain of the second day, the misty chill of the third, when they would have stopped any other member from doing so. They had fueled themselves on pain killers and Dayquil, playing symptoms off on natural causes (âYes, weâre all shivering, because weâre wet. Did you notice itâs raining?â âYouâre sniffling just as much as me, ya goof. Itâs cold outside!â âYeah, I know, three days in a row has been rough on my voice. I need to build up my stamina.â). They had taken their role as the eldest to the extreme. And no one had noticed.Â
Until they did.Â
The day after their second concert, Jihoon had arranged a morning meeting with Seungcheol and Hoshi to review some of the tracks he wanted for the new album. The first two shows had him extra hyped for the next project. Yes, he was on a performance high, but who could blame him? His group was taking off, and Jihoon wanted, needed, to do everything in his power to keep their wings aloft. He knew Seungcheol had left for the studio before him and that Soonyoung would be meeting them a little later.Â
When Jihoon pushed open the door to the studio, he expected to find Seungcheol⌠anywhere else than where he currently was. Maybe he would be at the soundboard, listening to some of the new tracks. Maybe heâd be on his computer, tapping away lyrics on the keys. But never could Jihoon have imagined finding his leader curled up in the fetal position on the crappy couch theyâd finagled into the corner, limbs wrapped as tight around himself as they could get.Â
âCheol?â
No response.Â
Jihoon raced to the couch, collapsing on his knees, shaking the leader somewhat roughly. Seungcheol came to with a gasp, eyes snapping open in fear.Â
âItâs me, itâs me,â Jihoon replied, holding up his hands to sooth the crazed look in the older manâs eyes. Seungcheol sighed, relaxing instantly. Jihoon didnât like the raspy sound when he exhaled. âYou look like shit. Whatâs wrong with you?â From anyone else, it wouldâve been unnecessary cruelty. From Jihoon, it was a testament to how seriously concerned he was.Â
âJust a cold,â Seunchaol mumbled, swallowing thickly as he began to uncurl his limbs. He grimaced, the movement seemingly very unpleasant.Â
âHow long?â
âHow long what?â
âHave you been sick?â Seungcheol shrugged. âWas it last night? The rain?â
Seungcheol shook his head. âFelt bad before that.â He coughed, clearing his throat. âJeonghanâs fault.âÂ
Jihoon frowned. âOkay, but when was that?â
âMaybe⌠the day before the show?â
Jihoon bit his lip. He pressed the back of his hand to Seungcheolâs cheek, detecting an unusual heat.Â
âI donât think this is just a cold, hyung,â Jihoon said. His hand moved to Seungcheolâs hip, squeezing slightly to comfort him. âMaybe you should sit outâŚ"
The leader shook his head. âIâm fine, Jihoonie.â He pushed himself to sitting, rubbing at his eyes. Jihoonâs frowned deepened as the leader coughed again.Â
âWhen did you get here today?â the producer asked.Â
âMaybe thirty minutes ago? I walked in andâŚâ Seungcheol paused, took a breath, âand I felt kind of⌠I donât know, breathless? So I sat down to take a breather for a minute and I guess I fell asleepâŚâ
âYou felt breathless after walking into the building?â Jihoon repeated. Seungcheol nodded. âHyung, a cold wouldnât make you feel winded after walking a few feet.â
Seungcheol waved him off. âJihoonie, itâs fine. We can deal with it tomorrowâŚâ
âHyungâŚâ
Seungcheolâs hand clasped Jihoonâs shoulder. The smile on his lips was meant to be reassuring, meant to be a resigned acknowledgment of the unfortunate situation facing them. To Jihoon, that smile just looked like a thin, flimsy mask. âWe need to make it through today. Iâll go to the doctor tomorrow if Iâm still not feeling my best. Promise.âÂ
Jihoon held his gaze defiantly, desperately wanting to argue his point. But he caved. Because Seungcheol was the oldest, and if he wanted to put himself through hell, let him.Â
The third show had gone off without a hitch, much to Jihoonâs surprise. Heâd kept his eyes glued to Seungcheol, sparing a few suspicious glances towards Jeonghan, remembering that the leader had blamed him for his illness. Both appeared perfectly fine on the surface, but Jihoon, as their brother, could see the cracks brewing underneath. Jeonghan was just as poorly as Seungcheol. And even though Carats would never know how much they were suffering, Jihoon couldnât fully stomach the idea that his hyungs had subjected themselves to performing in such poor weather when they were feeling so unwell.
(Of course Jihoon wouldâve tried to do the same in their position, but that was besides the point.)
The producer didnât try to push the point after the concert, though, as their managers were doing an excellent job hurrying the members off stage, into warmer clothes, and in the vans back to the dorms. Despite the inevitable post-performance buzz, everyone was worn out and exhausted. Three concerts in a row was tough on the body, and the adrenaline crash was imminent.Â
Jihoon spent the whole ride home debating whether or not to text the group minus the two eldest to tell them about Seungcheol and Jeonghan, but thought better of it. They were adults (albeit young adults,) and the leader and vice leader could deal with the consequences of their actions how they saw fit. Still⌠something felt off. Jihoon bit his lip and looked out the window, trying to ignore the fact that he could physically hear one of his hyungs wheezing behind him (he hadnât fully grasped where everyone was in the van).
The group dispersed quickly when they returned to the dorms. Shower order was determined quickly and quietly, and everyone swiftly separated to the kitchen for a snack or their own rooms to wind down. They would celebrate their accomplishment later: tonight was for rest.Â
Later that evening, after the shower cycle was complete and most of the members were squirreled away in their own rooms, Seokmin emerged from the comfort of his bed to shower last. He had originally drawn the second spot, but forfeited his rights to Jeonghan after some confusing but pointed hints from Jihoon. Heâd then become rather engrossed in a game on his phone, and hadnât realized the shower was free for quite a while. Sure, it was later than heâd like it to be, but at least heâd out-waited the line. The hallway was quiet, which he fully expected.Â
What Seokmin didnât expect, though, was the bathroom light to still be on. Eyebrows furrowed with curiosity, Seokmin peeked around the doorframe to find Joshua leaning heavily against the counter, nearly hyperventilating.
âHYUNG!â Seokmin raced forward, grabbing Joshua by the shoulders, turning the older man towards him and searching his face. âWhatâs wrong?â
âI canât read it,â Joshua cried, nodding towards the counter. Seokmin turned and saw their digital thermometer sitting there.Â
âWhat? You canâtâŚâ Seokmin peeked closer at the number on the screen. 38.6. âItâs not that high.â Seokmin turned back around to the now very clearly panicked Joshua. He cupped the older boyâs cheek in his hand, feeling the slightly abnormal warmth on his skin. âItâs okay, itâs gonna be okay. Your bodyâs probably just reacting to the stress of the concert, yeah? All we need to do is cool you down a bit. No problem.â
âHow high is it?â Joshua asked, tears brimming in his eyes.Â
âNot that highâŚâ
âBut the numberâs so low?â
Seokminâs face fell. âLow? What⌠OH!â Seokmin snapped his fingers as his brain put the pieces together. Joshua was raised on Fahrenheit, not Celsius. âHang on. Iâm getting Sollie.âÂ
As Seokmin turned towards the hall, Joshuaâs hand struck out and latched onto his sweatshirt. âPlease, donât go.â Seokmin felt his eyes prickle with tears. Joshua had never, ever shown such vulnerability around him before. Sure, heâd been sad, homesick, anxious. But there had always been a sense of restraint, as if he were holding back the âworstâ of his emotions, keeping them hidden from the younger members. Seeing him like this, emotionally unrestrained, made Seokmin emotional himself.Â
He turned around, grasping Joshuaâs hands in his and squeezing tight. âDo you want to come with me, then? Cause we need Hansol right now. You need him.â Joshua looked terribly unhappy with the prospect of moving, but nodded. Seokmin smiled reassuringly, wrapping his arm around the older vocalistâs shoulders and leading him down the hall. Seokmin could feel Joshua shaking, and silently prayed that this wasnât anything more than a post-concert crash. He wasnât sure his heart could handle watching his gentle, reserved older brother fall apart right now.Â
*
Despite the ache in his bones and the exhaustion creeping at the edge of his thoughts, Chan couldnât sleep. The rush of performing was partially to blame; as a dancer, Chan lived for the moments he got to perform on stage, letting his body take over and live to its fullest extent, any future soreness be damned.Â
The other reason he couldnât sleep was his useless Jeonghan-hyung.Â
Their rooms shared a wall, and Chan could hear Jeonghan coughing and sniffling, groaning with frustration, tossing and turning violently in his bed. This was⌠unusual. Chan didnât often hear noises from Jeonghanâs room, even when the elder was under the weather. That set off some sort of alarm in his overtired brain.Â
Pushing off his own blankets, Chan made his way over to Jeonghanâs room. When he pushed open the door, the older man turned to look at him right away.Â
âChannie, save yourself.â A hand was extended in his direction. âIâve caught the plague, and I will perish before sunrise.â
Chan resisted the urge to laugh out loud. âDramatic tonight, arenât we?â
Jeonghan sniffled pitifully. âIâm allowed to be. Iâm dying.â He coughed, a rough, barking cough.Â
Chan frowned. âI know. I can hear you through the wall.â He didnât move closer, not yet sure if Jeonghan would allow him any closer. âCan I get you anything?â
âI already took medicine about an hour ago, so I canât have more of that,â Jeonghan replied forlornly, slumping into a new position against his pillow. âI have waterâŚâ He shrugged. âI think I just need to wallow in my misery.â
âWhat about a humidifier?â Chan suggested. Jeonghan cocked his head to the side, eyebrows raising in thought. âThink that might help?â
âActually, that would fucking rock.â
Chan smiled. âThen consider it done.â The youngest member raced down the hall to the closet where they kept their humidifier, the image of Jeonghan smiling at him affectionately on repeat in his mind.Â
*
Try as he might, Seokmin couldnât sleep. After leaving Joshua with Hansol, heâd finally gotten a shower and returned to his bed. But something felt⌠wrong. He tossed and turned for a while, snatching a few minutes of sleep here and there, but he couldnât shake the feeling that he needed to be somewhere else. And he knew, in his heart, exactly where he needed to be: he hadnât been able to silence the worry in his chest since the thermometer incident.
Pushing out of bed with a huff, Seokmin padded down the hall and carefully, quietly pushed open the door to Joshuaâs room.
The older vocalist was curled up in bed, seemingly asleep. Leaving the door cracked open, Seokmin crept closer. And the closer he got, he could practically hear Joshuaâs teeth chattering, he was shivering so hard. Seokmin frowned as he stepped next to the bed and pressed his fingers to his friendâs forehead. His heart broke feeling the scorching heat radiating from Joshuaâs skin, sweaty and clammy beneath Seokminâs hand. Significantly higher than before.Â
With a determined nod of his head, and a deep breath to calm down, Seokmin hurried from Joshuaâs room straight to the kitchen. He grabbed a small bowl, filling it with lukewarm water. On his way back, he snagged a washcloth from the bathroom and a mask from the cabinet (because, if by some miracle Joshua was actually coherent, heâd be upset at Seokmin for getting too close and risk getting sick from him.)Â
Joshua hadnât moved since Seokmin had been gone. The younger man quickly soaked the cloth in the water and gently pressed it against Joshuaâs forehead. Without fully waking, Joshua unconsciously tried to squirm away.Â
With one hand holding the cloth still, Seokmin grabbed Joshua by the shoulder, gentle but firm. âHey, hey, itâs okay. We have to cool you down, love.âÂ
Joshua attempted to pull away again with a small, involuntary whine. That tiny sound, though, got caught in his throat, bubbling into the terrifying kind of cough that sounded so, so much like choking. Seokminâs body moved on instinct, pulling his hyungâs body from horizontal to vertical, attempting to free his airways, in tandem with Joshuaâs now very much awake attempts to push himself up. Once sitting, though, Joshuaâs body immediately began to slump forward, unable to hold itself up. Seokmin dove forward, arms circling his hyungâs waist, one knee on the bed to stabilize him. He could feel Joshuaâs muscles tensing under his hands as he coughed, struggling to expel the gunk from his lungs.Â
âItâs okay, Iâve got you,â Seokmin chanted under his breath, resting his cheek against the top of Joshuaâs head. âItâs okay, Iâve got youâŚâ
Joshua finally took a deep breath, and the fit was over. Another whine escaped from him as his body completely gave out, Seokminâs arms the only thing keeping him upright.Â
âI donâ feel so good,â Joshua slurred, his eyes slipping closed as he clutched at his chest. His breaths were coming in ragged, wheezing pants. Seokmin fought the urge to squeeze him, knowing that likely wouldnât help at all.Â
âI know, sweetheart, I know.â Biting his lip, Seokmin looked desperately at the door, still cracked open. As if just willing someone to appear would make it happen. There was no way in hell he could leave Joshua alone right now, but he also needed help, to get Joshua help. Heâd left his phone in his own room, not expecting to be gone this long. He glanced, panicked, at the nightstand, reaching quickly for Joshuaâs phone. âWhatâs your password?â
âHuh?â
âYour phone password.â
âOur debut date.â
âCute.â Seokmin quickly entered the passcode. He opened their group chat on Instagram, since it would indicate if anyone was online. A green circle appeared for Mingyu. Perfect.Â
Seokmin texted Mingyu: Please come to Joshuaâs room. Need help.Â
He heard footsteps almost immediately. A very confused Mingyu pushed the door open, his eyes widening as soon as they fell on the bed.Â
âI wondered why Joshua was texting in third person,â he muttered as he ran to them, kneeling next to the bed. His hands fluttered over Joshua, touching his shoulder, his cheek, anything he could reach. âWhatâs wrong?â His eyes flicked to Seokmin.Â
âCan you grab the thermometer? Please? Heâs burning up.âÂ
Mingyu nodded, immediately moving to follow Seokminâs instructions. As soon as Mingyu had gone, Joshua lifted his head.Â
âWho was that?â he asked, words jumbling together.Â
âMingyu. We need to check your temperature.â
âOhâŚâ Joshua coughed again, thankfully once twice, but still so congested and terrible that Seokminâs chest ached in sympathy.Â
Mingyue reappeared, thermometer gun in hand. With a nod to Seokmin, he pointed the instrument at Joshuaâs forehead and waited for the beep. Seokmin didnât like the way the rapperâs eyes widened. Or the way that Joshuaâs breathing started sounding less raspy and more congested, each inhale almost hitching in his throat.
â39.6.â
âFuck,â Seokmin cursed, looking at the floor as if it could help him figured out what to do. âThatâs⌠is that hospital?â He looked searchingly at Mingyu.Â
The rapper bit his lip. âIâŚâ His moment of indecision was cut off when Joshua began coughing again, that terrible barking sound from before. He had bent forward, hands cupped over his mouth, Seokmin's arms stretching to hold onto him. The younger vocalist's eyes flew to Mingyu in pure terror. Mingyu, somehow incredibly calm, simply pushed Seokmin back and thumped his hand against Joshua's back a few times until the coughing stopped on a suspiciously wet note. Seokmin snagged a few tissues from the box on the nightstand, holding them in front of Joshua until he felt ready to move again and remove whatever awful shit his lungs had produced.
"You poor thing," Seokmin whispered, one hand scratching at the nape of Joshua's neck while the other continued to hold him up.
Joshua slumped back against Seokmin. "I can't breathe..." he rasped, eyes struggling to stay open.
âDefinitely hospital." Seokmin's eyes snapped to Mingyu, who, again, looked way too calm. Good, someone had to be. "Should I wake Cheollie-hyung?âÂ
It was Seokminâs turn to suck his bottom lip in thought. He finally nodded. Mingyu darted off in earnest. Seokmin pulled Joshua closer to him, despite the small moan of protest from the older man. Something was terribly wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong.Â

âDino? Dino? CHAN!âÂ
The dancer opened his eyes with a start, looking around, fully disoriented. He was in the practice room. Soonyoung was kneeling next to him. When had he fallen asleep?
âYou good, bro?â Soonyoung asked, a small smile tugging at his lips despite the concern in his eyes.
Chan nodded, blinking a few times to wake up. âYeah. Just⌠tired I guess.â He chuckled. âDidnât even realize I fell asleep.â
Soonyoung laughed too. âYou want to call it a day? Weâve been here forâŚâ He turned to his watch.Â
Chan shook his head. âNo. I want to get this choreo done.â Soonyoung looked at him skeptically. âCome on, hyung, we can crank this out. Iâm okay, I promise.â
Chan was singing a very different tune as the two of them departed from the dance studio an hour and a half later. After falling asleep during their water break, an aura of fatigue had been clinging onto Chan, slowly his thoughts. Even as his body continued to move fluidly, effortlessly, his brain felt like it was on autopilot, sifting through waves of fog. Maybe he was just really, really tired. Maybe he shouldâve agreed to stop dancing when it was offered. But he hadnât, and now he was both mentally exhausted AND physically sore.Â
At least Soonyoung had cuddled him the whole drive home. That had been lovely.Â
As soon as they arrived back, Chan made his way to the shower, hoping the hot water would help relax his muscles. Not two seconds after heâd stepped under the steaming water, there was a knock at the door before the outline of someoneâs head popped in.
âWhose in here?â Jihoonâs voice asked.Â
âDino!â âMind if I brush my teeth?â
âGo for it.â His breath hitched suddenly, and he bent forward with a desperate, âHtâche!âÂ
âYou good, bro?,â Jihoon asked around his toothbrush.
âYeah.â Chan sniffled, shaking his head to clear it. âSteam got to me.âÂ
âWell be careful.â Jihoonâs words were no less concerned despite still being interpreted around his toothbrush. âWe donât need anyone else slipping in there.âÂ
Chan laughed, instantly transported back to the night theyâd all panicked that Seokmin had given himself a concussion. âIâll be careful, hyung.âÂ
A statement that turned out much easier said than done. Even after Jihoon had bid Chan âgoodnightâ and left the bathroom, the dancer couldnât get his sinuses to cooperate. Maybe the steam really had gotten to him, as Chan found himself sneezing periodically as he rushed (carefully) to get out of the slippery tub. But if it was the steam, why was he feeling more and more congested every second? Shouldnât he be feeling the opposite? Chan decided to worry about that later, and finish washing up.Â
When Chan finally stepped out of shower, the cold air hit him like a train. As he wrapped his towel around himself, a shiver snaked up his spine, prompting two more sneezes.Â
âBless you, sweetheart,â Jun sing-songed as he breezed through the door, immediately walking to the sink.Â
Chan sneezed a third time, stumbling forward.
Jun blinked in surprise, turning around. âYou good, Channie?â Chan nodded. Junâs eyebrows furrowed. âAre you sure?â The older dancerâs hands had grasped the youngerâs shoulders as he swayed slightly. Jun brushed a hand against his forehead. Not terribly warm, butâŚ
Chan crumbled. He could never lie to Junhei. âNo.â He sniffled, rubbing at his nose. âPlease donât tell Jeonghan.â
Jun chuckled, rubbing his hands up and down Chanâs bare arms. âWouldnât dream of it. As long as you take some meds and go right to bed.âÂ
âAye aye, captain,â Chan replied, waiting obediently as the elder man reached into the cabinet for said medicine. âThis really snuck up on me.â
âWell, then that means you can sneak right back if you play your cards right.â Jun handed over the tiny cup of amber liquid, and Chan shot it back with little complaint.Â
He only grimaced a little bit. âThat didnât make a lot of sense, hyung.â
Jun shrugged. âIâm not here to make sense. Iâm here to make dollars.âÂ
âOkay. Love you.â Chan blew Jun a kiss, which the elder happily returned, before moving off towards his room.Â
When Chan entered his room, he found Seungkwan sitting on his bed. âWhat are you doing here?â
Seungkwan looked up at him with the sweetest, sincerest puppy dog eyes. âCuddles?â
âNot sure Iâm the best candidate for that right now. Think I might be getting sick.â He sniffled immediately after, proving his point.Â
Seungkwan shrugged. âAll the more reason for snuggling then.â Chan shrugged in acquiescence. He moved to walk to the other side of the bed, pausing to sneeze twice, face buried in his hands. âOh, baby.â
âOh babyâs right,â Chan groaned, pulling his coziest pair of pajama pants from the dresser. Seungkwan hopped up, digging through Chanâs sweaters and pulling out his warmest hoodie, holding it out helpfully. Chan smiled, accepting the clothing, and turning around to get changed. Sure, theyâd changed in front of each other plenty of times, but he didnât feel good, dammit. And Seungkwan, bless his soul, immediately turned around to give Chan this bit of privacy, moving back to the bed where his laptop was waiting.Â
Once dressed, Chan spun on his heels to address his friend again, immediately interrupted by another sharp itch in his nose. âHeâtche! Etschu!âÂ
Seungkwan pouted. âBless you.â
âUgh.â Chan sniffled, rubbing his sleeve under his nose, too over it to feel gross. âIâm so tired of this.â He shuffled to the bed and collapsed next to Seungkwan, earning a laugh and a pat on the head from the vocalist.Â
âWell buckle up, buttercup, cause itâs gonna get worse before it gets better,â Seungkwan replied as he opened his laptop and set it up on his legs. He pulled Chan into his side, and the dancer happily melted into the embrace, head resting on Seungkwanâs chest.Â
Chan sniffled again. He nodded towards the side table. âCould youâŚ?â
âOn it.â Seungkwan placed the tissue box from the nightstand on Chanâs lap.
âThanks.â Pulling away from Seungkwan, Chan blew his nose, hating how congested he still felt regardless. He collapsed back into Seungkwan with an annoyed groan.Â
âYou werenât like this an hour ago.â
âI think the shower screwed me over.â
âHave you taken anything?â
Chan nodded. âJunnie-hyung made me take some Nyquil in exchange for not telling Hannie.â He snagged another tissue from the box, holding it against his nose, which was running more than he appreciated.Â
Seungkwan snorted. âHannieâs gonna find out.â
Chan glared up at him through his lashes. âNo heâs not.â
âOh, he is.â
âYouâre not gonna tell him!â
âI donât need to.â
Chanâs forehead creased. âThen howâŚâ Without warning, Seungkwan tapped the bridge of his nose, and Chan was suddenly very glad he was already holding that tissue as he immediately sneezed three times and wouldâve had zero time to cover otherwise. âWhat the FUCK!?â
âThatâs how, dummy.â Seungkwan laughed despite Chanâs obvious pout.Â
âYouâre so mean,â Chan huffed. âI canât wait to get you sick and then weâll see whose laughing.â
Seungkwan, ironically, laughed at Chanâs threats. âSure, sure, Channie-bug.â
âI mean it.âÂ
âYou donât.â
âI do.â
âIf I believed that, I wouldnât be in here right now. I wouldâve left as soon as I made sure you got in bed.â
Chan paused, lips pursing together. âDid Jihoon put you up to this?â
Seungkwan shrugged. âThatâs a strong word. Jihoon suggested I come and check on you. The cuddling was all my idea. He was nervous about you sneezing in the shower.âÂ
Chan rolled his eyes. âSeokmin almost gets a concussion one timeâŚâ
âAnd we have to pay the price for it for eternity.â Seungkwan kissed the top of Chanâs head, as if bringing an end to the conversation. âNow, Iâm turning on a movie, and youâre going to sleep.â He pulled Chan back against his side, one hand wrapping up around the younger manâs head, fingers tangling in his hair.Â
Chan sniffled. âAnd youâre a hundred percent sure youâre not worried about getting sick?â
Seungkwanâs smile was heart melting. âCross my heart, bug. Cross my heart.â
